man its getting bad here. last weekend was like trying to navigate a mine field to miss all the tree stumps. and those are just the ones that are visiable

some of yall remember me hitting a stump earlier in my new moomba causeing $2k in damage.
well just got pics text to me from my sister on there tige'.

apparently when the lake was built in '54 the corp of engineers put tires in the lake for fish habitats (lake is low enough you can see them in alot of places). well they banded all the tires together with 1/2" stainless straping. well my sister and husband hit one of those while idling out of a beach cove. metal straping wraped around the prop and stoped the motor so fast its completely locked up. wont budge. boats in the shop, looking like a bent crank along with alot of other bent internals and driveline. getting bad here....

Sucks, What lake were they on? My lake (Lavon) is about -11 now, I haven't been out in a while... mainly due to injuries, lack of time and heat...

Tawakoni is at least -10 now. It seems like everyday I hear about people hitting stuff in the surrounding area. Hope they are all alright. That's a bummer

both happened on Belton Lake. our other lake (Stillhouse) is almost competely gone. you can actually walk across 75% of it on dry land (lake bottom)

I heard they did the same banded sunken tree's / tires at my local lake.
How can you find out if it's true and are they going to take responsibility for creating sunken dangers?

Was that at TLP? I saw some tire piles there and beach goers are standing on them. I'm putting in at Arrowhead. It's really deep just off the ramp.

Cory, I pulled my friend's 37' twin engine Searay off the tires at TLP. They are easy to miss if you're not watching. I'm not going over there until the lake comes up another 5'
