they have used the same shape for past 5 or six years, but everyone has always loved that shape, thats why they havnt changed it in a long time and this has nothing to do with the watson, but lyman said the graphics on the 2010 lyman are INSANE. i cant wait to see it

How about Tino Santori? Didn't he just land a 1080? That puts him in pretty elite company with Parks, Rusty, Danny, Rathy etc... Just sayin'

very good point! Adam but however those are the only top 2 guys that are riding flex IMO look at the other top pros that are hitting 10's they are all riding really stiff boards such as the Marek with the nova core...! Most companys have followed suit and went with a super stiff and super light board just my 2 cents

Have you thought that maybe they are riding boards based more on their sponsor, rather than their personal preference?

Tino had NO plans of switching till he got dropped by Liquid Force, and there is a video somewhere of Randall Harris talking ish about how he'd "break flex boards like crazy" while he was still with Gator. It's all about who's paying you.

Funny how a flex board is "the future", but that thing that attaches to your tower and preloads the rope is stupid... Same idea behind both. I vote keep the Watson the way it is, or make a new one but keep the Watson Classic in the lineup as well.

I heard that 2010 Ronix wakeboards will have helium cores, giving them negative mass... so, essentially 4-5ft more height on airs and like 2 seconds of increased hangtime... just what I heard, though...

it was not a video (unless i am mistaken) that randall mentioned destroying a flex board it was a interview question from "randall replies" he was also speaking without experience at the time and was just stating what he imagined would happen if he rode a board with flex this was part of his response to that statement AFTER becoming part of company quote:The first time I rode a Company prototype was nothing like what I initially expected. I landed the majority of my stock tricks. I immediately noticed that the board had a much more lively feel. The amount of flex enabled me to load the tip or tail up on tricks and, in some cases, create more pop. Another huge benefit for me was that upon landing, the board would flatten out somewhat and rocket forward, hence faster landings. I have since discovered that a board with slightly less flex fits my riding style.
the rest of the interview is here http://wakeworld.com/getarticle.asp?articleid=2173 i bet those channels on the proto type pic of randalls board a while back would do well to create "slightly less flex" (see below) also i think it is good to note that Randall is not only sponsored but is a part owner and a big decision maker. and from the sound of things flex WILL be apart of his future board(s) but to what degree is the question. Randall could not have said it better, "flex is a feature..."... a feature/tech that is still new and maturing in a sense. some companies/ boards will use it a lot, some a little, and some none at all. similar to rocker style as a feature http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65919/699782.html (Message edited by wakerider111 on July 05, 2009)

I have seen an interview online with watson and he said his 2010 board will be completely different with new flex patterns and new core materials. Also watson was thinking about making the switch to company but liquid force made him an offer he couldnt refuse

Watson will have three different boards next year. The same old trusty one as the last few years, and 2 new ones that are sweet looking. Like Jordan says, new core material hybrid type stuff.

From what I understand LF wanted to have his new shape out this year as a mid season release. Obviously that didn't happen so next year it is. I am stoked because that means the old shape will make it's way down the line. I cant wait to see what Watson and Jimmy come up with.

here is the spy photo of gabe's board again http://www.alliancewake.com/goods_details.php?id=4851 And again on the boards with flex thing. what about Ennen and Mellisa. 2 pro models using the flex pattern/construction from the LF press What about 2010 bindings? anything pop up besides the proto CWB boots with the straps? kind of a faction boot with velcro straps (Message edited by wakerider111 on July 06, 2009)

They need to beef up the Watson some how... I have watched 5 of these boards break this year alone, all behind the boat.... same break everytime, just inside of the lead binding. This isn't some old school 225lb cat doing raleys either... W2W stuff at 165lbs.

You won't be breaking one of the watsons next year. Or Luker, quit riding like me and casing the wake.

I'm not breaking them... I've been out all season with an ACL... my buddy Alex Graydon, rides for LF and he's the one who's been destroying them, and he's a w2w rider... doesn't venture out into the flats that often. http://vimeo.com/videos/search:alex%20graydon
