I am just now really trying to work on loading the line when I jump and have a new non stretch rope, and what is happening to me now is that i am getting alot more pop off the wake and when I am in the air it snaps me forward and on two of my jumps last night i ended up doeing a superman and going face first into the water. It ranked pretty high with the guys in the boat as far as style points go!!! :-) But not excatly the results I was looking for. Am I taking my turn to sharp or something?

Keep the handle close to your leading hip and that should help you out.

I thought something completely different when I read the thread title.

Next time that happens take the handle and break it over your knee like a board. and you will land a raley.

Quite obviously the boat is moving forward so when you jump the rope will naturally pull you forward...having the handle on your lead hip as you leave the wake will allow your arms to extend in the air when pulled forward instead of your body. Keep the handle low was well so it pulls the core/center of your body rather than your head upperbody, this should keep you on axis better.

Also try edging out when you land. this will help keep the board edge facing the boat from catching water. Man It hurts

handle stuff is good. I can't really tell from you post, but you may need to chill out on your cut. you don't need to hit the wake at 90* to get decent pop. cut out, slow down, and drift in, slowly building your edge. Line tension is what snaps you up, but if you're cut is too aggressive it will flip you forward, because you couldn't keep the energy inline down to the board.

Not sure if thats whats going on without some vid.

Yes yes, keep that handle low and close into your body.

I totally agree with nacho, I used to have that same problem w/ finless boards, but found it that i was edging way too hard. all you need is about a 10 ft progressive edge & stand tall w/ the handle at your lead hip. keep your chest up

i guess maybe I need to take some video of me riding and see how far I am turned before I am hitting the wake, maybe I am edging so hard I am 90 to the wake and it's just pulling me over sideways.
