I have a Sanger V-215 with stock triple ballast, 1400-1500# of extra sacks, plus usually 3-4 people in the boat. The stock prop takes forever to get on plane and doesn't hold the speed very good either. What prop would be a good choice for a better hole-shot?

I have the Acme 653 653

Huge increase in hole shot and just a few MPH loss at the top. I regularly run 2500 plus peeps.

Another good one is the 911

i second the 911. 8 batteries at least 5 people, the ballast and no problems getting outa the hole w/ good speed control. top end is pretty much gone though.

seaswirlmike,

How much do you lose off the top end?

Put the 911 on my V215, run about 2000lbs. Great outta the hole, lost about 4-5mph on the top end. Cruise about 30-32 fully loaded no problem.

If you're worried about top end get the 653 it blows me outta the hole and like I said I didn't lose much up top. I called Acme and that what he recommended to me. The only time I had any trouble was 3k and 8 guys that took a little extra effort to get on plain.

911 on mine. I lost 2 mph over my 12.5" pitch 515. The OJ 11" pitch would be good too.
D215
