Hey what's up?

So I just took my first couple attempts at an HS FrontFlip. First of all, I need some pointers as you will see in the video that I've linked.

Secondly, after watching the video, I noticed that I'm not flipping completely to the side. I kind of flip forwards, and to the side. It almost looks like a completely different trick....one that I haven't seen done. As you can see, as I land, I still have the handle. So this would be completely possible to stick. Anyways, just thought I would share! Still need some pointers! Does this even look like a heel front to you?

You are essentially doing an early rotated front to fakie (or switch or whatever you want to call it). Add a handle pass and you've got a Slim Chance (front flip mobe). Try and find a clip of Byerly doing a heel front to fakie, yours looks just like it.

To keep from going to switch, you need to go more end over end. So instead of dropping your chin to your chest, you need to drop your ear to your shoulder. It's a different trick off the double up, you can see how much you flatten off as you come up the wake. Without a double you are able to take a stronger edge and really kick off your back foot.

I would try it wake to wake and keep more of a tight line. My buddy does these huge into the flats. Edge all the way up the wake and leave the wake really back foot heavy.

^^^^And bend your front knee leaving the wake. This trick should have almost a Raley type cut and be taken out instead of up with line tension the whole way thru the trick.

Small Light, yeah you're right! It does look like an early front to fakie... i never noticed that!

Awesome guys, thanks for the pointers. I'm going to give this another shot possibly this weekend. I'm not sure I'm comfortable doing this without the help of the double-up yet... the wake on my boat isn't that big. I definitely will try and concentrate on going end over end (ear to shoulder).

Thanks!
