So i was running my speaker wire from my cabin speakers to my amp. What i always thought and went by is + is the copper wire - is the silver wire. I almost positive speakers to an amp matter what is + and -. What i noticed is all the speakers are right but the wire runs to a factory plug and then into the back of the head unit and they are all different + going to a - nothing is the same. Correct me if i am wrong but it does matter the i have all the + wires from the speakers to the + inputs of the amp and same with the -

The radio tuner died in my XLV the first month I got the boat. I got the supra's kenwood in exchange for the moomba's dead one thanks to my dealer. As far as the wiring I don't think it matters in the short term because power and going to the speaker and returning. The wire is the same on either side but it would give me peace of mind to spend a little time making it all agree: speaker to amp. My 2 cents

Can you make a diagram of what you have going on?

It does matter and it will affect sound quality and your drivers in all your speakers will eventually fail , if its under war. take it back to dealer have them fix it. If it didn't matter they wouldn't waste time putting on the + and - markings

If I under stand correct you have a + going to a + but the wire switches from copper to siler at the plug. So you have two different kinds of wire to make up one run.
