Reviews on this boat... Found one on craiglist in my area with a legit phone number for 16,500 bucks... i think this is a steal if i can get it. Any info would be helpful... also what is the dry weight? I have a 4k lb lift for my Hydrodyne grandsport.

If it is legit that is a total steal. My buddy just sold his 2007 with 375 hours for $38K. I would tend to believe it is not legit or there is a serious issue with it. It probably weighs about 3,200-3,400 lbs. Usually when it is too good to be true it is. Post a link or send me a link and I can see if it is legit...

I have to say it doesn't sound legit...
I picked up a 2007 20SSV with under 150 hours last year for $36K. I thought that was a smokin' deal!
The dry weight is right around the 3,300 mark and 4,200 with the trailer.

Looks like it was left outside uncovered but its in my city so its no harm to go look and see if it runs etc. i got the dyne for a decent deal it will be on the market for 11k if this works out.

You better run... it is pretty easy to search and find it on Craigslist now that you have advertised it on WW... Ha ha. If I were closer, I would be running over there, but I would guess this is not a real deal.....

why do you think it isnt real? besides the price.

Just seems too good to be true... Pick up the phone and run over there.

they didnt answer so we will see...

My guess is you will not get an answer. Then you will send an email and they will reply back to you apologizing cause they are in the military or overseas and will have a 3rd party handle the transaction....
It is positive that it has a MO phone number and MO tags..... Good luck. I hope it is legit.

so wish i was not skiing in colorado right now... but i will think of it as a 5 hour energy commercial... i closed on a boat worth 20k more than i paid while drinking a beer boarding down the slopes at keystone

That is beyond a smoking deal. I'm going with everyone else on here. Anything that sounds to good to be true almost always is. That boat would have to be totaled to be only worth 16,500.

This is awesome. Hope it turns out for you. I will give you $20K for it tuesday!!!

If you look at the picture of Michael's 20V above and then look at the pictures of the craigslist boat they aren't even close. The back of the craigslist boat is way shallower. Looking at the pics that is not a 20V. Plus the trailer looks like a light single vs. the very beefy one under the other 20V.

In the pictures the boat doesn't look bad at all from what you can see. Why is it priced $20K low? We aren't talking a good deal. Thats less than half. I'd be scared something isn't right even if the boat is there. Is it a divorce sale or bankruptcy/ repo in either case the court will come for the boat and good luck seeing your money again. Is it stolen? I'd make sure I as was at the DMV with the guy and that the title transfer went thru before I paid a dime. If I thought it was legit, vacation or not I'd be on a plane. Your talking once in a lifetime to get a $35,000 boat for $16,500.

FYI, I just bought this boat. I went and looked at it, and while there's a lot that that you can't see in the picture, it was still too good to pass up. It needs gel repair on the nose, the entire starboard side is scratched from being tied up to boats without bumpers apparently. It had a full fly high ballast system including bags in the storage lockers and a bag in the ski locker. Had a full stereo in it, etc. It was very dirty... definitely been sitting outside, but still worth it. Now I have to figure out what I'm supposed to do with my MasterCraft.

Mike, did you transfer the title yet? I wouldn't pay a dime on a deal that hot until I knew the title was clear and in my name.

If the guy took that poor of care of the boat, how is the engine and transmission? Does everything work? On you post you say the boat "had" things. Does that mean they are gone now, or it "has" those items/options??

Haven't transferred the title yet. Going to put it on the water today. I checked the oil and trans fluid, and both checked out as far as not having water intrusion. Prop spun freely, no dings on it, etc, so I have no reason to think he's hit anything with it. I'll know when I drive it, if it shutters we'll have more to talk about. The boat is loaded... has perfect pass, the 1200lb ballast setup, heater, tower speakers, amp, sub, swivel racks, docking lights, fiberglass platform, etc.

Story behind it was that the dad bought it for his kid who went to college and dad kept up with the drivetrain maintenance. Kid beat it up getting hammered on it every weekend... ran into the dock on the nose so the gel needs replaced there, looks like he docked it without any fenders ever, so it needs gel work on one of the sides. Rub rail bumps everywhere, etc. Just a kid that was spoiled and didn't take care of it is what his dad told me. It needs to be cleaned out throroughly. The bilge is dirty, ski locker is dirty, carpet is dirty, etc. The rear bench seat bottoms and bow seat bottoms will need new skins as well. It's a boat that will require elbow grease, but I'm fine with that. Throw a few thousand and some time and it'll be a hell of a boat.

Gonna go water test it today and talk to the mechanic that did all the work. Should be at home later this afternoon with it.

For the record, I didn't snipe it off the guy because of this website. I saw it on CL as well, and knew it was a great deal. Went and looked at it and I have the cash to back up my offer to him. One of those right place at the right time moments. I only saw this thread after doing some research on these boats after I got home. I'm a MC guy, didn't know much about the Supra line until yesterday haha.

Glad you aren't taking it too hard. Also guessing he didn't send you a beer? Also guessing your tampon is soaked with anger?

I mean chill out dude its a frigging boat. Deals are to be found just keep your eyes open. If it were me and the boat just meant this freaking much I wouldn't have taken the time to post it up on a wakeboard website........I would have been at the ATM pushing buttons like a madman. Good looking boat Zimme enjoy it!

PS I'd prob fix that boat up and sell it too! Make that money

Lesson learned, do your research and don't draw attention to a deal of a lifetime. When I got my X1, after hours of research and looking back through years of classifieds on Team Talk, I knew it was a great opportunity. Had I posted it on here, that boat would have been gone before I could close on it. Another key point, if you need a loan, be very careful of drawing attention to deals. There are a lot of people that can swoop in, with cash, and screw you.

Calling the guy out on here doesn't do much.

Also, right before I found my X1 I was about to buy a used '04 Sante 210. When the deal fell apart for the SANTE, I was bummed. I was really bummed the next Monday when the new owner posted up pics on here. (The buyer was a good guy, the seller screwed me) But, in the end I got a new boat and a warranty for not much more than that SANTE. The point is, if you keep looking a better deal could present itself. My advice would be to have all of your financial stuff ready to go, because historically a few ridiculous deals present themselves when boats start coming out of storage.

Jess, for what its worth, the boat sounds like it was just a toy for a spoiled kid that didn't take care of it. Besides, there are better boats out there than that one. The 20 was not a very popular model, from what I remember.
Old     (polarbill)      Join Date: Jun 2003       02-11-2013, 8:31 AM Reply
Point is if you find a great deal you better be ready with cash or a check to lock the boat up. Unfortunately for you, you weren't around to walk in and offer a deposit and/or cash for the full amount. Maybe Mike with sell you the boat for the 30k it is worth once it is cleaned up and he will throw in a sixer of talls.

Also, calling the dude out as a dbag and saying you are going to get him banned from your lake? Sounds like the pot calling the kettle black.
