What would be a good deal for a 2010 MC X35 or 2010 Malibu 23LSV? Looking at picking one up and on paper there is a big price gap so wondering where I can expect to land after negotiating. I know options have a lot to do with it but I am only looking at the standard equipment.

koolmoe, i picked up a 2010 X-35 last fall for 104k and im super stoked with it. the surf wake is huge and the wakeboarding wake is really clean and rampy just with stock ballast. i've got the bigblock 450hp engine with surf tabs and a bunch of stuff. but you could proly pick one up for around 95k with the smaller engine, but i love the extra horses personaly

zach..you.ve got to be kidding me

Judging by how much i got my 08 x-star for, i would say you could pick one up for 69k

Thanks Zach and Riddick. @Z, you are right on with the pricing for the LOADED X35 I am being quoted at. But for a LOADED LSV, I am being quoted around $68k. This is all before negotiating. Obviously if I can't get either price lower, we know who the winner will be as I personally can't justify the $36k price gap.

Zach, you bought a $104k X-35 as an 18 year old student? I wish I went to your undergrad when I was 18.

I think Riddick is more on key, unless you live in an area where money is worth less.

Just for kicks, check out the 23" MB B-52. I own a 05 Malibu LSV and couldnt be happier, however, I think MB makes a great boat for the price. has a better warranty, trailer and cover. ballast system. Would have bought the B-52 in 05, but didnt like the way the tower flexed and rattled. MB has since fixed this and the tower is now very solid. I live in Calif and its not hard to find a new 09 model for 50K or less, plus, you dont see as many on the river/lake. Do some research, I think you might be surprised when you start comparing. Good luck!!

I got the same initial quote on a loaded 23lsv. Now I need to figure out where to start dealing from. Not too low so there is no negotiation but low enough to get the best deal possible.

Just as the economy tanked I was offered mid 70's for a 2008 X-35. Reasonably equipped.

Very different boats. But you would probably be very pleased with either.

$100k for a loaded x35? That is nuts. My 45 is pretty well loaded with everything except the L-18 and I did not pay close to that. There are so many deals out there now as a result of all the 25 cent millionaires who bought boats that can't afford them. Just be patient and a good deal will come along.

Josh is right. But the good deals on new boats are drying up quickly as the supply has shrunk to meet the demand.

There is a new 08 X45 on Boattrader for 60K. It might be missing a few things, but I am sure it would compare very favorably with any used 08. There were a bunch at this time last year.

The used market is shrinking too...the people who were going to lose their boats, have lost them by now and the used boats are not going to get any cheaper either. I think it all follows the price of the new boats...when someone sees a new 35 for 100k, then a used one for 75 suddenly seems OK.

You should be able to deal on an X-35. The 100K price tag has to be MSRP. I would think that you could close that gap some. I'm going to get flamed for this but I personally think that the X-35 is more boat, so it will come with somewhat of a premium, but not 36K. I think that you could get an X-35 for low to mid 70's.
