New Setup!! DHV2!!

Just got my new setup! Thought i would share a few pics...can't wait to get it out...DHV2..cells...caught a pic of the pointless led's too, lol...

How about 09 Ronix!

so is this just an old original ONE design with new core and graphics or did they change anything about the actual bottom,width,legnth or fin pacement since the One came out?

basically does it still ride the same but lighter and more durable?

The old One i demoed a few years back had a ton of pop and great on hs jumps but Ts cutting in the flats and edging nto the wake the board tend to grab a lot and not track well and also the landings were a litle hard..

so is it improved in those areas?

Bill, the 09 One is supposed to not catch as much as the older One. The rail is slightly changed an you can only see the difference in the rail if you look at it right next to the old One.

OH MY GOD! sickest board i'v ever seen. awesome.

Justin is right, the rail is beveled and that's about it. I am now a huge fan of the One....very solid and versatile board.

Here are a couple of the bottom...the board and bindings weigh in a hair under 11 lbs. (just rough estimate by home scale)...

The colors on the bottom graphics aren't the same as the pictures. This board looks way cooler than the original graphics. And you can't beat an 11 pound setup.

How many of Ronix's boards are based on the One's mold? Talk about return on investment.

I havent done any research, but it'd be funny if it was all marketing and no substance. - Even though Ronix says its made of expensive different, life altering stuff. Fancy LED light and all.

Has anyone actually broken a 'dark core' to see whats in them? PVC foam and some carbon if my memory serves me right.

Anyone have the same setup on the regular 'one' to see how much it weighs? Jeff can you weigh the board alone?

I have the 09 One I could weigh, but it wouldnt be on the same scale, so results wouldnt be calibrated.

i weighed a couple LF setups I had laying around....08 Witness 140/06 Watsons: 15.7lbs....08 PS3/08 Watsons: 15 lbs if that helps any......i'll try to weigh the board alone...

Just weigh yourself and then yourself with the board. Then scale calibrations don't matter.

11 lbs. is pretty light for an entire set-up.

Scott, the core is similiar in materials, but it's cured using a completely different process, which takes 6 weeks instead of under a week, causing it to stiffen and loose weight. It does have some other mystery stuff in it, which I don't even know of, and I ride for them.

I'll answer for Caleb since I am his main sponsor. He rides for my shop, Diamond Lakes WaterSports, and we have hooked him up with our local Ronix rep. Caleb does get his gear for free from Ronix through my shop, but not "officially" on a "team" sanctioned my Ronix.

On a side note, Caleb is a huge up and coming wakeskater and wakeboarder that should be getting some national attention in the near future. He recently won INT Championships in wakeskate open and has a huge bag of tricks including kickflips, 3 shuvs, all sorts of grabbed 180 variations wake to wake, and many other advanced tricks. Look for him to be competiting at WWA events soon.

Jon, I get it. I have some friends that ride for some local shops. I am hoping to ride for a shop some day.

I have seen a a dark core blank. The legend lives.

"Weight" is not the only goal or purpose for the dark core series of boards. A Dark Core Board will snap back to it's original shape much faster than a regular core. Basically, the board will "recoil" with a quicker snap off the wake which translates to a cleaner, higher pop. The Dark Core Boards are also very strong. So, it is not all about weight, a dark core is designed to be lighter, pop better, and last longer.

Not to mention the Dark Cores were put through like 40+ hours of double up testing. It was found that the heal and toe of the boot after 40+ hours of double ups would actually dent the board surface. To make sure this would not happen to the Dark Core Boards, Circular rectangles made up of a different, higher density foam, sit beneath the heal and the toe of the boots. If you look closely you can see these circular rectangles on the top of the board near the heal and toe of the boots.

That right there is proof that it is not just some marketing scheme behind the Dark Core boards but instead 40 hours of double up testing, a 6 week curing process, and a countless amount of research and development.

I personally think I will hop of a CSV2 soon enough. Can't wait.

When the V1 boards came out I wondered why Danny and Chad didn't ride them. I saw Dean riding a DHV1 one day when they first came out, and Chad and Danny riding them once. I guess they are pretty pricey to tear up on sliders.

I've wondered the same thing Justin...I guess the normal pro goes through a ton of boards in a year so i could see where it would be pricey...

They do ride them, it just depends. They switch it up ALOT.

Harf was riding one at Worlds last year I believe.

If I could make up my mind on which Ronix shape I liked the best I would probably invest in a V2 board, but I am not real sure which one I like the most.

i'm not a fan of Ronix AT ALL! but that thing is sick maybe i'll have to reconsider.

There's quite a few shots in DRIVE of Chad and Danny both on their V1 models.

I was just going to mention it in Drive. Danny seems to be doing about 50% on each board, Chad more so on his CSV1. I am also wondering why they would switch though? It seems to me that for wake riding it does not make sense to ride the regular board, but Danny rides his plenty. Enlightenment?

Yeah, Jon nailed it. I get all my gear through Diamond Lakes, but it's free through Ronix. It's really complicated, and I'll be honest, I don't even know all the details, lol. Think of it like Ronix and Diamond lakes Watersports have joint custody of me... Except DLWS gets more time with me and Ronix doesn't claim me as a dependant on tax forms.
