Howdy all;

Is it normal to get a bit of noise from free-spinning a trailer wheel on the brake axle? Do they constantly touch, or should I swap my pads out? I'll be checking the pads for sure in a few days, but just wanted to know what level of noise if any is acceptable back there.

Thanks!

are you sure its not a bearing noise?

about 99% certain...i popped into my hubs and checked the bearings and races and they're in great shape, no pits or anything and grease was clean, and it's a dual-axle and the non-brake axle is silent.

yes its normal...
how well are they working?
they should just barely be contacting if the shoes are adjusted correctly, that way when you brake it activates them without any "slack"....as time goes on they may need to be adjusted back out to barely drag again...and so on
