What do you think is the best selling board shape? And if it's different, the most famous board shape. Here are my thoughts 1. LF Trip 2. Hyperlite Belmont (Motive) 3. Hyperlite premier (era) 4. Thruster Harris (Ive seen this shape used by a ton of manufacturers) Most famous I would say Wake tech flight 69. and some of the above.

The old Belmont/Motive had a long run and was very popular. But don't forget about the 98' Murray/Fluid shape. They made that from 98'-04'. The Truster Harris shape is a great mold!! About as plan as it can get and rode great!! I rode the O'brian Harris and a Gator Harris. All the same as the Thruster. He rode the same shape from 2000 or 01 till the like last year. IMO the best mold ever made is the Marius!

...groundbreaking? It's just another board. Murray/motive shape would be my guess.

i agree with Scott... the One borrowed quite a few features from other boards.. that's not exactly ground breaking.. the Murray/Motive has been unchanged for quite a long time.

The best selling board of all time is the State: The first year it sold 9600, second year it sold 10300 blew any board away times two. }

Matthew, the first board we owned was a Trip, and what a great shape it was/is. I think that it was the first 6-fin board, and first to use the 'cupped' fins on the side (although I could be wrong on that). True, it doesn't have the pop of most of the 3-stage boards today, but it sure is a fun, stable ride.

The motive shape has been around for years, I even have a 98 Nelson Double Up on my wall that is very similar to today's motive.

Not sure about shape changes and what they may have become, but I'm showing some CWB love and throwing the Absolute in here..... Though agree that the Premier/Era has to have some place in the top three selling single shapes of all time.

Kristian I don't know how the State can be the best selling board of all time when it's only been on the shelves for the last 3 years. State 2005-2007 Fluid 1997-2007 Belmont/Motive 200-2007 Premier 2001-2007 Trip 1999-2005

Don't forget the 04-current Ricky G shape is like the Premiere. I'll bet that is GB's best selling shape to date.

I think it has to be the Motive. Hasn't it been around since before 2000 though. I'm thinking like 98 is when it first came out. Someone else chime in if they know.

Ron, the above post for the Motive was supposed to read 2000-2007 and yes it's first year as the Belmont was in 2000

Wait, so no Motive for 2008? I used to ride a 99 Belmont and my cousin still rips it on that board. I still think they should just add a center spine to the board and maybe a bit more rocker.

That what I was saying a 99 Belmont? Matt is saying it didn't come out until 2000 but I thought it was earlier. Who knows for sure?

The first Belmont was technically a 2000 model board, but it was out in late 99 (September/Octoberish). It was the one with the face graphic, and it came in regular or honeycomb core. The motive will be around for 2008, like Ryan said, and a bargain package from Hyperlite.

I'm simply getting my facts off of the wakeworld board guide. But all it does is show you the year of the board not the year it was introduced. Like if you were to look up CWB's Faction bindings it would probably show them only for 2007 since they were an early release that actually came out in 2006.
