I've got the 542 on my '86 Silver Nautique 2001 with the 351. Huge difference in the hole shot. It pulls the riders right up with 1600 (3 540 sacks) lbs ballast now and right onto plane. We ride between 2600 & 2800 rpms depending on the rider. Top end didn't seem to get hit much at all and as a real bonus, the boat hold speed 5 times as good now as with the stock prop. Best investment yet. And as for gas consumption, it got better as you don't have to WOT as much to get out of the hole or onto plane.
