What do you guys think uses more gas, wakesurfing or wakeboarding? Lets assume that for both activities the boat is weighted accordingly for a generous wakeboarding wake and a generous wakesurfing wave. Assuming that we would be using a newer inboard 350-375hp. I am just curious what everyone thinks!

I would think it would be quite a bit more for surfing. There would be a lot more drag.

I personally believe it uses less wakesurfing. You're cruising much slower similar weight amounts(different locations). Based on what I've seen day to day when riding is the gauge goes down a lot faster in a day of only boarding vs a day of only surfing. Boat is 06 VLX in profile.

Wakeboarding uses more imo. Slower speed = slower rpms.

I would say Wakeboarding uses more too.

Wakesurfing and Wakeboarding run close to the same RPM for us, within 1,000 (wakeboarding more)... and wakeboarding has that initial blast to get out of the water

Well it you are running 2000 rpms or so for surfing and 3000 for boarding that's a big difference, 30%. Those are just example numbers, I don't know what my boat runs right off the top of my head. Also I will be propping down soon, so that will change it..
