I'm using my dads profile, im 11 and looking to try wakeskating. I weigh 85 pounds. I was hoping someone could give me ideas about good boards to start with and where to find good deals.

Well I always recommend boards from NewWakeskates.com I think the mini would be a great choice their site is currently under construction while they redo it but you can check it out here -----> https://generalstore.wakeoutlaws.com/itemdetail.php?item_id=IQ1185473325I46a8e32dc2fcd

check out sattelyte wakeskates. their smallest board would be perfect for you now and you could use it for years to come

Right on Oliver, Sattelyte is the way to go.

Sattelyte makes a sick board but I wouldn't suggest spending $230-$300 on your first board what if you decide you don't like it ? You can get the New Mini for $90

i'm looking at the 2006, 2007, and the 2008, hyperlite scape wakeskates and i was wondering if those would be good for me. I was also wondering if it would be hard for me to ride the sattelyte because it has no fins and if a board with fins would be easier.

Its the heartbreaker and i just wanted to get 140 and whatever it costs to ship

Dude I'd jump on that Sattelyte $140 is a good deal for any Sattelyte they're solid boards
Old     (hemihauler)      Join Date: Jan 2006       07-22-2008, 12:46 PM Reply

$90 for the mini is a killer deal imo. The Mini is the exact same shape as the Mogley which is what I ride and I absolutely love that board

go to a local shop and see if you can demo some boards

THE CATALYST IS GOOD:-)

the new mini would be the best choice for someone that young/little.

Jessica, the catalyst is too big for most grown men let alone an 11 year old.

I disagree. Depends on weight. The small catalyist might work and you can get them cheap on boardersbestbuy every so often.

the hyperlite scape is a good board. i have ridden one before and i liked it a lot. i have the '07 Liquid Force Faction 42 it is pretty nice as well but probably too big for you
Old     (hemihauler)      Join Date: Jan 2006       07-27-2008, 12:00 PM Reply
but would the scape be good for me?
Old     (wakemitch)      Join Date: Jun 2005       07-27-2008, 12:08 PM Reply
Rob, the smallest scape (107) is over 42" and you should go with 40" or smaller. 36-38" would be best for you.
