just put bigger bags in the rear of my boat and took it out for the first time today, still got some work to do of fine tuning the wake, but it was pretty big and felt pretty good. definitely takes longer to plane now :-)Upload

the boat is a mobius XLV it has 750# bags in the rear and a 650# in the front and i had 4 people on the boat.

i had the 750s probably about 3/4 full. i need more weight in the front then i can fill the rears all the way for a total of over 2500#

Alright, more specifics dude. You cant come on here posting that kinda wake without rope length, speed and rider height, lol. I am pretty impressed though.

Nice looking wake but what was the speed ? I'm going to guess that you were going a little on the slow side.
Old     (entrustclothing)      Join Date: Jul 2005       04-29-2006, 8:17 AM Reply
sorry guys here are more specs
speed 22mph
rope 70 or 75' i forget what i have my rope set at
and im 5'9"

i think at 23mph it would clean it up a little bit more so i'm gonna try that

I run the XLV as well. I run 1000lbs. in the front and 600lbs. on each side of the engine. The boat handles it well with the right prop. I run an ACME 537. This boat has got an incredible wake. It's steeper than most of the SC line and it just throws you. I ride behind a 22SSV as well and prefer the wake of the XLV much better. The wake can be intimidating at times.

The XLV's wake gives me more hang time than any boat I have ever ridden behind-makes my fully loaded Launch SS feel like a speed bump. Nice set up, can't wait to get behind the one on my lake in a week or two.

yeah, we have a XLV also. Lately I have been riding it empty with no ballast and the wake is still solid. When we fill it up its a monster.

Notice the lip is rolling over a little, you've got too much weight in the back. Best set up for that boat is the GG 1000lb bag in the locker and about 400lbs on either side of the motor. You won't have to run over 22mph (unless you chose to ride that fast) and the wake will stay just as big, clean, and hard to almost 85ft.

i know, i said earlier it needs more weight in the front, that will be coming next. the water was also pretty choppy so that didn't help much

Ya KNOW it's a good wake when ya see it and you get cold chills down your spine, haha. Nice man, really impressive, making Moomba more appealing to me every minute, haha.

That's not a wake. That's the start of a tidal wave.

There's a reason why I named my XLV "Tsunami-The Black Pearl" Last October a few of us were at a lake where it was 90 ft. deep and we had the ballast dialed in perfectly that day. We were all giggling like school girls! Not only is the wake incredible, but the space of this boat is awesome! It's got some nice innovations as well. It was the first to have a drop in cooler area. I like it better than the one in the new X2. Then there's the stadium seating, the double up seating in the walk-thru, the seat back behind the driver which was the first of it's kind. The wake, the size and the seating arrangement makes this one incredible boat!!!

BAZZINGG!!!!

Just look at the size of that lip. Pretty impressive that with tht much weight it will clean up at 22. Bury the nose fill the back and take a pic of it at 24-25mph, I've got a dollar that says it will look damn fine.

Okay be honest entrust.... Was the boat on plane or plowing? Me thinks it was probably plowing with the weight distribution, wake shape and speed.

the boat was on plane. im jumping the wake there and i dont start jumping until the boat is up to speed and on plane

with a few hundred more pounds in the box and another mph i think it will be perfect

The XLV's wake is hard as hell when weighted properly!
