I keep hearing the sn2001 has a vert wake. Does that means its almost straight up and you hit it like a wall, opposed to a progressive wake where it has a much longer ramp to the top?

I rode behind a svfara 2 years ago at a wakeboard camp, and the wake on that was pretty steep and straight up, I had to learn how to ride all over again.

Thats pretty much it. The straight up pop comes from the lip at the top of the wake as opposed to rampier wake with more transition. But, you can mellow the lip out by putting more weight in the front of the boat. If you have too much weight in the back, it can get stand up pretty good, but just move some weight around. It's a versatile wake for sure.

Haha ^^^^^^^ - that would be my wake.

It's almost just like the 210 wake (pre06) but a little narrower. Too much weight in the back and it's a curb, but balance out the weight and it is perfect.

some call it a curb, I like to think of it as perfection. In all honesty though, some people run too much weight in the back of these boats and it really does go vert. Personally, I like a lot of weight center to give it more transition. I also ride a little faster than some.

I rode with a guy a few times that had 2 600s around the engine and a 600 across the back. That really was like hitting a wall. Just cruise in and get booted. Too much kick for me but he was working on 5s and 7s, so thats how he liked it.

The wake is steep, but you can change the shape alot by how you weight it. I weight mine with about 40% in the front, 60% in the back, and I love it.

It's a sick wake. Pretty much like a smaller 210 wake or a 210 wake that is not fully-loaded down.

What is the wake like compared to a comparable older weighted ski boat as well.

^^^^nothing compares actually, wake wise.

Many people like 902 Mastercraft 205s but they're usually a bit more pricey than SN2001s.

how can nothing compare? I have seen some really weighted DD ski boats that throw a pretty good wake. Sure the runningboards are low to begin with and it sits dangerously low in the water but the wake is pretty respectable.

I wouldn't say nothing compares, but you won't find many 80's model ski boats that you can throw 2k lbs. in with 3-4 riders on top of that. The Supra Sun Sport is one, but that wake is a little more finicky.
