Looking for some opinions on these two boots. I am going to buy some new ones but not sure what to get yet. If you have tried either or both please post some pros/cons about them.

Thanks

I own the 3DS boots. VERY comfy, great support, and the added control is really nice.....you'll see a big difference the first time you come up on the board! It feels to me like most of the tension comes around the ankle wrap and ankle area, as opposed to the tops of my feet, which is where other bindings make me uncomfortable. The foot areas have a loose feel, BUT something is firmly touching every part of my foot and ankle with no pinched spots, no skin rubbing, and no numbness.

Honestly....I really can't name a negative thing, other than they're a little ugly....but I never ride in fashion shows or where them to the club, so it's all good!

I also like the 3DS over the Murray for the top wrap....not a BOA fan.

Haven't tried on the Watson.

Go 3DS...

Higher Ankle support
tighter feel (more responsive)
The watsons have a weird footbed (it hurts)
More comfortable

I have ridden both, and I think that the 3DS is by far a better binding (No ownership goggles here... I ride 05 LF gear)

i agree, own the 3ds and have rode the watson's, and they put way too much pressure on the top of the foot for me. 3ds broke in so amazingly well too.

i've owned Hyperlite Murrays, LF Alpha, Sphynx and now the Watsons.

The most comfortable boots i've ever used. Easy to get in, hold really well. Super light. They look good, seem to be holding up very well. A buddy of mine tried them today and immediately told me he had to get a pair.

No pressure or discomfort anywhere for me. They were a bit tight initially, but are perfect now. I can't see ever buying another pair of boots. I wished they made a womans version, so i could get my wife a pair (she has pink Minx boots).

Watsons rock, plain and simple. Worth every penny, and then some more.

**sorry for the thread hijack**

Hey John Bowen - How do this Sphynx compare to the Watson? I just purchased the Sphynx bindings and coming from HL Temets, I'm having a hard time getting used to the lack of firmness and ankle support, although I'm considering keeping them because I love the footbed so much. A buddy of mine told me that the Watson may be better for me because of this.

Thanks.

David-

In my experiance, nothing from LF comes close to the support of the Temet bindings... Once you've ridden a boot as firm as those, it's so difficult to go down to something looser.

After having ridden LF Transits (most supportive boot in LFs line) for 2 full seasons, I've switched back to my 2001 Belmonts just because of the better responsiveness/firmness/support.

Having ridden the Watsons, I can say that they are firmer and more supportive than other boots in the LF line, but won't be able to touch your Temets in that area. I say sacrifice a little comfort for a lot of performance and stick with the Temets.

David... if you like the Sphynx and you want more support go for Transit... exact same plate and footbed but with higher support and more firmness... for my part, I'm coming from Ultras... I always liked the lower support, flexibility of the boot and no hassle entry(some people hated them for that)... but my last pair, the 04, have always been too tight over the top on my foot...could stand them in my feet for more than 15 minutes... so I just ordered a pair of Shane yesterday... I loved the Sphynx but put my foot in a pair of Watson... and OMG... ease of entry... comfort... lightness... I found the boot was not as stiff as I imagined... but still a bit stiff for me... that's why I went for the Shane... they may not be the best looking binding but my 03 absolute is black and white so I guess it wont be that bad... I never had a good feeling with Hyperlite bindings... tried everything from many Highbacks to 3060, Belmonts, Byerly, Era, 06 Parks... and never felt as comfortable as in a pair of LF boot... plus, the hyperlite closed toe look way uglier than Shanes IMO... but who really care about looks right?? I know girls do... but tell me you aren't a bunch of sissy... arguing about looks... It's cool when things match... but if it don't I certainly don't care...

Just tried a pair of each of the following; Watsons, Sphynx, Transits and 3DS (shopping around to replace my pair of '05 Transits) and I must say comfort wise, I loved the feel of the 3DS.

Watsons were a close second. But I noticed a fair amount of heel lift from both the Watsons and 3DS which was a little surprising. More from the Watsons though.

Transit 06 were just too damn tight for me and felt strange coming from the 05s.

Sphynx were real comfy and nice but too much heel lift for me.

All up, I'm quite set on the 3DS myself and will probably pick up a pair as soon as I offload my current Transits.

Would love to try a pair of CWB Zeus or Factions on but hard to find them where I am at.

alright, good feedback folks. Thanks a bunch. My local shops are sold out of the Watsons, but maybe I'll pick some up online and if I like them better, sell the Sphynxs on ebay.

Thanks again.
