Registration for Polar Bear is happening at 6pm PDT. We are looking at 8-10 boats and 48 people this year. For the love of wakesurfing.

Squid is right! I am so bummed that I can't ride in the Polar Bear this year. I have met the best people in the world at this event in the two years that I have attended. They are my wakesurf family. It is an absolute blast. You won't regret going and hanging out with this crew! I will have to wait till next year. My surf season will start again around Jan. with the Wakesurf AZ crew, who I met at my first Polar Bear
I will miss you guys!!!
Especially Rob yelling at me Hope to see you all this Spring at Camp Far West.

Looks like we have almost 40 boards, 34 fresh from the manufacturers and then a few extra from our own stashes.

We almost got a G23 with NSS from Bob's Superior Boat Repair and Tommy Czeschin, schedules didn't work but they want to be in next year.

Almost got the ASR, but needed more time after mywake.

what do you guys think of the doomswell boards? I"d like to get a custom board, and they seem pretty reasonable.

The doomswell boards were great, more info when the reviews come out, but several people liked them a lot.

I attended the Polar Bear event for the first time this past weekend and I had to post how great of an experience it was!! I live in Atlanta and had always wanted to come but I always thought I was only an average rider and they would snicker at that... and I would not know anyone so I would have to break through the "click", it is crazy to fly out there when I have my own boat and boards and all of those pre-event thoughts a lot of us have. I have to say this event blew all of those thoughts out of the water... it is an incredible event and so much fun. I am actually super sore today but so happy for it. I rode over 30 boards, behind 6 different extremely dialed in awesome boats, stayed in the middle of the lake on a great houseboat in a comfy bed and met so many great people who all share the same passion around wakesurfing! We talked boards, waves, ballast, lead, speed, fins, nubsters, boats, shapers, resin, glass, wood and much much more. Whatever topic of wakesurfing you brought up everyone had something to say and I learned so much new/helpful information. Anyway, I had to post this so those of you that have never been that you should plan on attending... you will not regret it. I also have to give a big shout out to the Garcia family, the Harrington's, the board companies, the drivers.... they all make this event special and they work their tails off to be sure everyone feels welcome and has a terrific wakesurfing experience. Thanks to all who made this happen.

How long till we see some vid and reviews?
Old     (ragboy)      Join Date: Aug 2007       10-14-2013, 4:10 PM Reply
I will probably release some highlights by tomorrow, I am cataloging photos and video now. This event was definitely the best yet. I have pretty much given up on boat dealers and manufacturers mostly because a boat can rarely be locked in. Using boats owned by wakesurfers is definitely the way to go. We had 6 dialed in wakesurf boats. It was 6 degrees of greatness, every wake was amazing and had its own characteristics. Half of the riders were goofy and most folks were in mixed families or marriages and everyone expected to have the same great wake on both sides and every boat delivered.

On top of that, some great new boards by Brigade, Doomswell, Evercarve, Idol, Shredstixx, Soulcract. The choices for great custom boards is just insane compared to the past.

In a week we should have full reviews, there or about. The word is really going to spread about some of these new boards, and new boats. At least new to the "wakesurf lifestyle" group.

You don't have to compete, there are usually enough boats and boards floating around to keep you entertained, bring camping gear, and some gas money people are pretty cool about letting you hang with them for a bit.

I love the Polar Bear and really missed you guys this year! Can't wait till I can come ride with you guys in Cali. this Spring and definitely at next years Polar Bear.
