That's how my old boat was setup. I really liked it that way.

I now connect directly through the WS420 only because the one RCA out of the back of my deck was getting a bad connection. Only minor issue I find is the volume is quite touchy.

I have a bluetooth receiver connected to the main input on the ws420. My head unit is still in the boat, but it isn't connected any more.

thats what i was thinking of doing. I had just purchased a dual head unit with bluetooth but the quality sounded terrible compared to just iphone right into the amp (not sure why)

I have a headunit, but really only use it to play usb thumb drives. The headunit and a miccus bluetooth dongle go into the main and aux inputs of an hse revolution, and the hse goes to our eq (which isn't a ws-420, but that's not really relevant). All volume control is done through the eq. 99% of the time we use the phone and bluetooth setup and it sounds fantastic. The other 1% we use the usb thumbies, but I'd venture that if I pulled the HU and we relied solely on the iphone, nobody would miss it. Hmmm... maybe I have my winter project.

I just connect my phone directly to the 420. It cuts out the middleman and chances of signal issues.

I just installed this yesterday. $9, works perfectly. Replaced the broken one that came with the boat. Funny it was exact match to oem one from nautique.
And it charges the phone!!!

I have this one from monoprice. The output is a little low on it, so I also had to add a line driver.

I have this Aluratek. It's $29 at Bestbuy. It also comes with a 3.5mm to stereo RCA jacks. Has it's own battery as well.

I just temporarily used velcro to mount it to my head unit. I would like a more permanent looking mount to be honest.

Mine is somewhat impaired being tucked under the dash and if someone is using the phone int he bow or back corner there will be an occasional cutout. I'm sure the range would be better if it were visible, but I wanted it to be invisible. In the driver's seat or observer's seat it's perfect.

I Use The HeadUnit which Is Connected To My 420. I THINK it Sounds Louder Through The HadUnit Rather Than Directly To The 420. Also I set The Eq Tower And in Boat Volumes, Then Use head Unit Knob For The Overall Control. Makes Life simpler, I Also Use That Little Bluetooth Thing Posted And Its Awesome!
