I saw it yesterday at the Nor Cal boat show. WOW that thing was crazy, It makes the X star look small, I think the sale show price was somthing around $118.00.00. This was for the single engine model, I wonder what the twin engin boat would go for. I was thrown back buy its size. I had seen it before but never looked at it very close. I thought it was kina cool. If you wanted a huge party boat that looked like a wakeboard boat, This would be a good choice.

118??? there is one in memphis right now for around $100,000 (i think). i know it wasnt near 118. i wonder what the different options are that make it so much more.

The dealer in Texas said you could get the twin MCX's for 118K and 103K for the single

Pleasanton boat show had the X80, listing price for the show was 93k with twin engines. Only issue is I have been told by sales guy's in the past that the wake is not very good for a "wakeboard" boat. I dont know guys and gals, my wake seems just fine (mastercraft X5) for about 60k less. Dont know if the zippy wow of the X80 is worth the price tag, I mean come on how often are you gonna use the sink anyways. Although the rear lay down seats are a nice touch! Looked great, the one funny thing is, I saw the one guy (the one we have all seen who obviously cant afford something but wants everyone to think he can)inside the boat with the sales guy asking all the questions. I had to think to myself, "If you can afford this, why are you still wearing the closeout reebok hightops from the 80's ?" Anyways great show had a blast!

After checking out the X80, all the other "big" boats looked small. I personally liked the Malibu Sunscape 25 LSV if you're looking for a bigger boat. Must have been the $7 beers, but I thought the twin X80 was listed at 98,500.Great show with 100 salespeople that can prove that their boat is the best! The MB salesperson was pretty convincing. Oh well, back to reality and my 92 Nautique.

All I know is what Zane Schwenk told me. He said there is NO BETTER WAKEBOARD BOAT... PERIOD. If Zane says it, it must be true.

That guy has a serious case of diarrhea mouth, and "Little Mans Disease".

Does the X80 require a special permit to pull it around on the trailer? I have a tige and on most of the back roads, the wheels on the trailer go from one line to the other. The X80 is 14 inches wider.

As seen in another post:

You do not need a permit to trailer your boat (no matter how wide it is) unless you are a profesional truck driver and you are being paid to haul it.

The width restrictions do not apply to 'home-owners'.

As the X-80 is 9'6" wide, it would probably need a permit for nighttime delivery in many states (I think the limit in most states is 8.5' to 12' (depending on daylight (12') or nighttime (8.5') hours) then the trucker that is hauling it from the factory to the dealer would need an additional permit for it.

I said the boat was listed for $118K. I was wrong (I swear they switched it) I went back to the show and looked at the price tag again and Yes I saw it listed for 98k, It must have been the $7 Beer, Sorry

Doug, pretty funny about the guy with the close out Rebocks, I feel the same way, I guess thats why we wouldnt make good sales people,

I wouldn't want to be trailering that thing around, I don't think there would be a single mailbox left between my house and the lake.

Can you save a couple of bucks and get a single axle trailer???

Just kiddin guys, come on now!!! I can swing the 93k for a wakeboard boat but the additional $900 for tadem axle is too much!!!

once again j/k

if a rider fell how well would it turn around to get back to the rider?

grant, also listen to the remixed version of sundown. huge bass...

If twin engines, it would be fun to turn. Just kick one and pull the other back and turn the wheel. Cannot see how a boat this big would be good for wakeboarding. Does it have the same hull concept as X-Star where the running surface below water is smaller/not as wide as boat.

For picking up fallen riders I would just throw out the ancor J/K

Ty please send me the song your taling about grantwest@marblewest.com

Doug: I saw 2 things yesterday and I was thinking about ya #1 A silver/blue lowerd porsche Cayenne it looked bad ass, #2 I was driving down 101 and looked over and saw a huge SALE sigh hanging over the Carlson Porsche dealership, I thought it was kind of tacky does Poesche need to have SALE and if they do I would think they would do a better way of advertising it.

And as far as running surface on the X-80 I dont think so, I had noticed the X-80 looked to have a lifting Step in the hull like a go fast boat.

i saw a red x 80 in cancun a couple of weeks ago and it looked pretty cool. it didn't seem to be much bigger than a regular wb boat while driving. i was in a san and i really think a bigger boat can come handy in rough water like the lagoon. i thought the boat was an x star when i first saw it, thats when we chased it just to go check it out. didnt get to see the wake or anyone ride behind it, they were just cruisin around.

I believe that the fact towing is by a "home-owner" instead of a professional doesn't make any difference in allowable width. I have heard over and over that in most states the limit is 8'-6". That's why mfgrs have stopped at 102" beam. I found this summary of regs. in a quick search: http://www.horsetravels.com/towing.htm

I did a demo in the boat one year ago. See my previous post: http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/55214.html?1046112777
I also think a triple axle trailer should be used.

Porsche sale, they were probably throwing in free CD changers or knowcking $ 500 off. ANyway, that would have been about all you could get in the old days. I think they are trying very hard to move the Boxter, Cayenne and 996. The Boxter sales are down as are 996s, but these models have been out for 6 years and longer than any other model or single variation of the 911. The Cayenes are also getting some serious discounts on the S models. I think the Turbos have been selling well.

doug - why dont you go buy that x-80 up at the boat center. i am sure they would appreciate it.

Hehehe. I need to go see it. I saw the black X-Star sitting out front, or is that the X-80. I would get a used 45 foot Sea Ray Sundancer if I was going to drop some large coin on a boat. Its cheap for a big boat, but cool enough to spend spend a night or two.

would hate to pay the gas bill for a full tank of gas on the x-80. Think the dealer would throw in the first full tank? 88*1.65=$145.20 (based on regular 87)!

doubt that gas money is an issue when you're spending 90k+
