Had a alarm system installed on my boat on four of the compartments. The the alarm works great but if someone knows about the kill switch you could turn it off in a few seconds. Since the switch has to be in the on position all the time why do i even need the shutoff? Or should I just relocate it behind the compartment with the battery? What other purpose would it serve? Thanks

I would make a connection directly to the battery (through a fuse, of course) to operate the alarm system.

Hard wire that puppy to the Battery, but put a kill switch on it so you can turn it off when taking it in for service and such. Common courtesy..
