I have the bearing buddy on my trailer, the kind that sucks in when low on grease. Today I noticed it was sucked completely in and grease was all over my rim and tire. How did this happen? Did someone push my bearing buddy in? Took it all apart and bearings seem fine. No grease blew out of the back bearing either. Weird to me....anyone have this happen before?
I'm not sure of your exact bearing, but that sounds typical of a simple seal break. I would imagine, unless you really know what your looking at, its not something you could visually see. Good luck.
happened to me last weekend on a 6 month old trailer, brakes started locking up and i didnt notice. As the wheel gets hot the grease starts to come out, have the brakes checked out.
I think it did get hot. The brakes seem to be fine, I put it all back together with a new grease seal. Next week im going to repack all the wheel bearings, and put new seals in, then new brake pads. Hopefully this will not happen again.
