What would you rather have at your dock? 2006 MC x-2 or 2006 MB B52 23V ???? They have pretty much the same options and price. What one would handle rough water better?

I would rather the x-2 at my dock... but the b52 handles better in rough water. And I haven't ridden either.

MB is a limited production boat so you will most likely get more people saying the X-2. There are way more X-2's out there so it stands to reason it will get more votes. I say MB though. Wadd$

I love my MB.. youre obviously going to get a ton of biased opinions here.. Take them both out on a demo.. which one fits you, which ones price is right, and whos got the best service.. those should be the biggest concerns.. like johnny wadd said, youre going to get alot more people who say x2 because alot more people have them, but MB's quality is second to none.. go out and try them and hopefully you like the mb, we need a few more mb owners in here

Test drive them both. From a drivers standpoint I bet you will like the X2. From a room and stock wake standpoint I figure the MB. Rough water ride quality, I do not know. Size does not always equal ride quality. My old style X2 rides like an oversprung truck in the rough but the new X2 is supposed to ride very well due to its deeper V. Good luck and enjoy whatever you buy. For me it would be the X2 but my needs could be different than yours.

These boats are not even similar. You're trying to compare a 20ft boat to a 23ft boat? The x2 has 650lbs of stock ballast verses the Mb with 2500lbs. I guess the x-2 is a great choice if you like filling fat sacks. I'm not saying one is better than the other, but they are so different the choice should be obvious to you.

I say X-2. I can't even begin to tell you all the reasons why. My buddy's MB has more problems than any other boat I have ever been in or around. Wake washes all the time in it too. From a warrenty standpoint, I think Mastercraft is more accessable and they will be around in 20 years to find parts for em.

Ryan, have you ever been in or even seen an MB. If MC is a BMW, than MB is an Infiniti, Mercedes etc....pick one. For what it is worth, I do not own one, however, a very respected boat mechanic here in my town, said "If you want the best built boat without a big name, MB is your boat." This was just his opinion, but I would second the remark, MB's quality is second to none, Including MC.

On another note, I have not had the opportunity to ride behind either boat, but, friends of mine who have rave about the B52 V23 wake. Its hit and miss with the new X2 wake.

Thanks for all the info! I was already leaning towards the MB B4 this was posted, my wife likes the MB because it's bigger, and will take the heavier chop better. Living in Michigan the Great Lakes are always calling, "come ski me!" And as any Great Lake boater knows the lake can be glass on minute then whammo! 2-4 footers, then 4-6ers, then call the Coast Guard! I've been fortunate to have been around boats all my life(I'm 33), Dad, Grandpa's, in-laws, out laws and many friends own boats. Along with the half dozen I've owned. Spent a few summers working at Humbug Marina(Lake Erie), prepin' boats, running the gas dock, helping damsels in distress etc. So IMO I believe MB to rank with the Big boys any day on the lake. Also, the MB comes with a tandem axle trailer, my MC dealer said the single was fine. I just laughed, and said I wouldn't put my dirt bike and quads on a single, let alone my 50k+ boat. Anyone who's had a blow out at highway speeds knows the difference. If you haven't PM me and I'll go into more detail. I also like having something different and MC's seem to be a dime a dozen around here. So after getting the thumbs up almost a year ago from my wife to get a new inboard, four boat shows, a hand full of demo rides and a gazillion hours haggeling prices my "Final answer" is MB. Which coincidentely happens to be the first one I looked at. Go figure?

Matt, Just so you know, I am an MB Owner and I absolutley love my V23. Buttttt the it is not a great boat in the chop. Don't get me wrong. Ive been in alot of MC's and I like those boats but the rough water ride is not great in my MB. That said, anyone who says a mastercraft is a better build then an MB doesn't know what they are talking about. Its the same old I like my Chevy better then your Ford stuff. These posts are only good if you get quality advice by people who have ridden in both boats. And still you are going to get predjudice. Its all up to you and what you like, what your needs are and your budget. I dont think you will be dissapointed with either boat. Good boat hunting my friend.

You should get an epic. it has 4,000 pounds of ballast with an 8.1L and handles rough water even better.

matt p. you were never going to get the x2 because your wife liked the mb. if you didnt get the mb she would of hated the x2. when you guys would see a mb at the lake she would stare at it. you would think she was checkin the buff dude driving it then you would get pissed at her then she would say "See look at that Mb the hull looks soo buff uhh i mean strong". its just lame to compare a x2 to a b 52 23 v. its not the same thing. congrats on the boat. have fun. thats whats its all about.

IMO, you are not comparing apples to apples those boats are not the same when it comes to size. Those boats might be close in price, but not in size. Size wise the X-30 would be a closer comparison. It seems to me you already had your mind made up before this post, it's your money go with what you think is best...

Matt go with what YOU like. These threads are worthless really. What would you rather have at your dock? 2006 MC x-2 or 2006 MB B52 23V ???? They have pretty much the same options and price. What one would handle rough water better? MB. X-2 will just be another X-boat until you buy a better boat. That is why they all start with X.

Ryan..I guess, living in Ohio it would make sense, that you would have a limited view of MB. It is mostly a west coast boat do to its limited numbers. Make sure you state it your opinion when you say the two crafts are the best built boat, because that is what it is, your opinion. Not all share that opinion. I agree MC makes a great product, I reserve my opinion of CC. If givin the choice of an MC, lets say X-30, or the MB V23, it would be a hard choice.
