It's about time. It's sad to see kids and ignorant parents lured to McDonald's because of the Playland and toys with food.

Weakest thing I have read in a while. Sorry, but banning a toy because it is "luring" kids and parents into buying the food is simply absurd.

I completely agree. How about some parent accountability. Stuff like this, addressing the symptom and not the root cause, drives me nuts.

There are "healthy" options to the Happy meal. I guess having too many options can damage brain cells for some.

Soooooo stupid!!! Welcome the nanny state where we no longer have to use our brains and the government takes care of everything for us. Look out Chucky Cheese's, Dave and Busters, Rachel's Steakhouse or pretty much any business that has the audacity to "lure" their customer's in with crazy things like entertainment, good service, clean facilities, etc.

...and the hits just keep on coming!

How dare mcdonalds try to lure in children with toys...

Seriously though, is it not up to the parents to decide what their kids are eating, I mean jesus it's no secret that fast food isn't healthy. This is insane

How long has Mcdonalds been around? Pretty sure there food isn't getting any worse for you. Seems the only thing that has really changed is parents ability to make good decisions.

Not if they keep offering those free soda refills! I find myself lured to the sugary liquids. Sure there is a "diet" alternative, but I would really prefer that the government just remove anything with sugar in it because i'm waaaaay too stupid to think for myself! Yay nanny state! I want to be Europe but a plane ticket costs too much, so it's easier just to transform this country!

So whats the closet Mickey D's to Santa Clara that will be getting all the Happy Meal Biz?

I bet it is not that far of a drive for the residents of Santa Clara.

Well I thought I would look for myself, there are plenty of Micky D's within 2 miles of Santa Clara.

Chuck E Cheese is doomed!!!!!

There is no way kids should be entertained and eat at the same place.

This causes flatulence and hyperactivity.

Its about time our socialist saviors did something about it!!!!!!!

Thank you for denying me another freedom. You guys are the best!!!!!!(we need a middle finger emoticon)

I would love to say that I a so happy that I don't live in California but I live in the second most crazy state in the country. Yeah for more government. Please tell me what to drive, what to eat, what to smoke, what to do, what to etc.......

I hate making decisions.

I loved Mcdonalds as a child...more for the playground than anything else. I remember begging my parents to go and them taking me probably 35% of the time. I never got fat from Mcdonalds.

The main reason I think I stayed thin is because I wasn't sitting at home all day playing stupid video games. I was out in the woods building forts, riding my bike/skateboard, swimming, etc.

The problem with obesity is not Mcdonalds...it's kids sitting at home on their fat A$$ playing video games 24/7

Its only unincorporated area of the county. I think just a few restaurants total. It is funny how the government takes away stuff from the majority just because some parents can't resist the kids asking or the ease of fast food. Government always knows best I guess. Thats what they tell us everyday with this BS!

What ever happened to personal accountability?
Old     (benjaminp)      Join Date: Nov 2008       04-30-2010, 6:19 PM Reply
Next there will have to be pictures of fat kids on chocolate bars and they will be on covered shelves to help reduce obesity. Spot on guys, personal accountability is gone. You didnt tell me the hot coffe I ordered would be hot, I'm sueing you. But I will also complain if it isnt hot. So ha!

That ended when the entitlement era came into play.

This is ridiculous because if you look at the resteraunts it covers its about 5. And there resteruants like San Martin Cafe, places that don't have kids meals. There is not one fast food resteruant that this law would cover. This was just for a little media attention and this law does no good what so ever it effects no one! Waste of time and money!
