New Melones Camping and Boarding

Has anybody ever stayed/rode here? I am looking at the Manzanita loop sites like 115. Any idea how close the sites are to the lake or moorage on the shore? I called the camp ground and the ranger was completly clueless! Where's the best spot to ride?

we camp at new melones all the time. we are going to be there the 16th-18th. we usually stay in the big oak sites at the glory hole campground. sites are this campground are nice, but a little ways from the water. the sites are fairly close to the glory hole launch ramp. we usually ride near the 49 bridge and we have no problem finding decent water. we hit the water pretty early, though. good luck and have fun

If you are going this weekend. You best be on the water when the sun is coming up. The water will be destroyed by 9-10AM. Everyone rides up the arm under the bridges.
