This isn't technically about wakeboarding, but I didn't know where else to put it.
Pretty much the only time to wakeboard (or waterski, barefoot, or kneeboard) on our lake is early in the morning or at dusk, but the laws don't allow speeds over headway until 11am on Saturday and Sunday.
IV Speed Regulations
A. Power propelled speed is limited to 10 MPH until 11:00 a.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
C. Power propelled boats speed is limited to headway speed or 5 mph, whichever is greater,
1/2 hour after sunset until ½ hour before sunrise.
By 11:05, everyone is out on their boats and the water has gone to crap.
I'm thinking of petitioning to allow skiers and boarders to use the lake 1 hour earlier, at 10am, to take advantage of the conditions that are ideal for those particular sports. (Like adult swim at the local pool.) Considering there's a lot of people who ski or ride, I'm sure I could get backers. Also, the Ski Team was able to get permission to practice as early as 8am, so its not an issue of noise. But I can't help but wonder if this is too extreme?
