Why is it that we can start a post about a new Malibu web site (or other boat brand) is up but not other web sites like wakesurf board sites? Happens every winter for just about every boat brand, doesn’t it? I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of these posts withdrawn, maybe I missed it.
I didn't see the post but I understand that DD posted a thread indicating that a new P5 site was up. Was it DD’s post or what? How did that post differ from the "Hey my brand of boat has a new web site post." I haven’t seen a banner at the top of the Boat and Equipment forum.

We all know the reason but if WW'er to WW'er is sharing the info and David knows we're not affiliated with the company then it shouldn't be a problem.

It blows me away that people can't see the difference between normal Joe Wakeboarder starting a thread about a product/service/website and a rep from the company starting a thread about a product/service/website. IF YOU WORK FOR A COMPANY, YOU CAN'T POST THE SAME THINGS THAT EVERYBODY ELSE IS ALLOWED TO POST! THAT IS CALLED ADVERTISING! Seems pretty logical to me.

I didn't say anything about "working for" a company. I said "affiliated" with a company. Again, I find it absolutely ridiculous that I have to explain the fact that if you are promoting a company because they are giving you money, product, favors, etc., then that is advertising!! Come on, are you really struggling to understand this or are you just looking for a loophole so that you can promote your stuff for free. It's really very simple, but some of you are trying really hard to make it complicated!!

Hey Nick,
I agree with you. If this keeps up we will all need to find a different way to discus wakesurfing and that would be a shame. Dave seems really clear to me. Why can't everyone else see it also. Cry me a river, build me a bridge and GET OVER IT.

Because one area of the site goes downhill the rest does. Thats why.

Also, I would imagine all the nonsense going on that causes trouble would just flood over to the wakeboard forum. Thats also why.

Another post got put up that said 'We've got our new website up with lots of great stuff on it. Come and see us.'
Which really is advertising, and that diminishes the value to the people that pay for advertising on WW and bring us this great site.

Your rules are clear, simple and straight forward. Why can't you simply "ban" certain users, who continue to fight the rules?

Come on guys, what would YOU do if YOU owned this site and had vendors who PAY for advertising rights???
