It was a day of 360's for us! Judy didn't land it, but through the day she came seriously close to hitting a switch frontside 3! I can't even get the board around switch.

You have a good eye johnboyy7 - some new tech that we got a chance to ride for the first time today. Similar construction as original, but different materials and arrangement of those materials. Thanks for follwoing along!

im a big fan of the flyboy. is this a board that james designed or has been working on FLYBOYWAKESURF.COM? how did yall feel like it rode compared to the original and IS? hard to tell from pics but does it only have 2 fins?

Hey johnboyy7,

I'm pleased that you follow along! This board has a full carbon wrap, with some bits and pieces inside. The light colored areas are 'boo. The FB site has briefly touched on the construction, but we'll get into it more in the near future. The fins in this board are still the same Twinzer arrangement, but slight changed from other versions - just a tweak. This board is about a 1/2 pound heavier than the original FB. Several years ago we created a sandwich using zylon and kevlar. This board has that feel. It's super responsive. Personally, I think most folks wouldn't like it much, it goes exactly where you point it, immediately.

sounds like it would be fun to play with. how does james like it?

James loves the board, but hates my traction application. I put the tail on about 1.5" too far forward! He's hoping to get out this Tuesday to try the board again after adjusting the traction properly. He told me that he's not getting the sort of leverage that he likes, based upon the traction being too far forward. Yeah, it's probably a fun board to mess with, IF you didn't have to foot the bill...I'd estimate the cost at $1,300+ at retail if you had one made. It burns my fingers everytime I pick it up!

wow. thats enough talk about that board then. for that price i would want the the traction pad right also.
Old    surfdad            08-15-2011, 6:15 PM Reply
LOL!!! Really, for that price it should come with new bifocals for me so that I can put traction on right!

Ok, traction fixed! This was from James first ride on the board, about 15 or so minutes in, I do believe, James does an air 3, slash, grabbed ollie indecision, grabbed ollie 7 and surface reverse part of a wind to unwind. He is "spittin' distance" from landing an ollie 1080, also.

@ vman - I know that feeling, I spent 4 years at that same ratio! That's how long I've struggled with that trick. Isn't Judy the best? I'll make a better effort to post some of her tricks in the future. Thanks for following along!

Nice pics Mstoked2.

@ Show, come out to Cali and ride with us, we'll (James, Dennis and I) have you doing a 3 before you have to go back, or get MORE grumpy. Didn't I read that you had vacation days to burn? We'd all love to see you again! Just think, we'll be calling you Bigshow'off 3!

Here are a couple pictures of my cute little wake. Fortunately my kids are talented enough to ride it.
Sanger D215 with 1100#, two adults and two kids in the boat. Phase 5 Prop is what they are riding. They both like it more than my Blue Lake, which I guess is kind of big for them anyway.
