I think that looks like a recipe for a mess of water in your boat.

How would you intend to fill them anyway?
Keep in mind 5 gals will only add 40lbs of weight. So would take 20 of them to get 800lbs in the boat.
$12.99 x 20 = $260. Or you can buy a 400 lbs Ronix Eight-3 bag for $127.99 each

For the same amount of weight, and enough to make a difference, you would be way better off buying actual ballast bags.

We used to use ballast bags for waterbeds years ago. That usually resulted in a lot of water in the boat at some point.

i wanted something i can move from side to side easily, I only need about 200 lbs of extra ballast.
As for filling with water, I would just fill it up with a garden hose at the dock.

200 lbs? invite a friend and tell his ass to sit over there. now over here. works great.

What makes you think you only need 200 lbs? hook in your hull? at some point, you'll want more ballast so buy a 400 and fill it halfway for now.

I also had a waterbed mattress in the back of my old boat. built in ballast system so it never leaked a bit.

Sandbags would be cheaper and more manageable to use

along with lead tire weights, weight lifting plates and steel plates. concrete bags, your fat sister, it all displaces water.

I have more lead than that in the boat!!!

Maybe useful to have one or two to dial in wake side to side without moving people around, but I'd imagine durability would be an issue. I'd get a small bag made for ballast (thicker/durable) or improvise with some metal.

Nice! big boats take a lot of weight!! I like sticking bags of lead under the gunnels and in small areas. Had a friend casually kick/slide a lead bag trying to move it out the way. He hurt his foot. LOL
