Are boat warranties like car warranties in that you can take them to any dealership and they will do the work for you and then charge the manufacturer? Never owned a new boat before so I'm not sure about this...

Depends on what work you're having done. If I need engine or transmission work done, any certified Merc service dealer can do it. If I need the speedo gauge changed, it's the Centurion dealer.
