Close, but not exactly. The gunwales are shorter than the launch. She'll have a tough time staying afloat with much over 1200-1500 lbs.

Andy,
I had a 1989 Supra mariah. It was my first boat. We put a 400lb fat sac on both sides of the Engine and had to maually adjust the wakeplate all the way up. IT threw a pretty good wake with that. it was a rampy wake with a little kick at the top. Boat ran like a champ and was solid as a rock.

That 91 Excel hull is great! Why are you looking to move to an older boat from that?

I would keep that Excel hull in a heart beat over the Supra Mariah but that is just me.

I'm as big a fanboy for older supras as anybody; my Mariah is a '92. But for boarding, i'd keep your v-drive.

You aren't lucky enough to have the open-bow Excel... it's unfortunate. I have closed-bow Nautique myself... and I know it can be a bit... cozy ;-)

well either way, i will turn a profit when i go to sell it, I plan to keep upgrading till im at about a 15-20k boat, and ill prob sell what ever i have to buy a house. and then buy a brand new boat after that.

so this wont be the boat i keep for ever. i have a magnum skier ill be selling her shortly too. maybe im thinking i should hold off till i find the big block powered sunsport though.

I had an 88 Mariah--great boat. Kept a 800# sack in the back below the sundeck(removed the trunk and set it on the gas tank), and 400# of sand under the front bow seating--awesome wake--recently upgraded to a 2003 Launch SSV and would say that the wakes are comperable.
