I am going to run some new tower speaker wire this weekend for my MB-8 and Pro 80 combo.

I have always run "in-wall" or "jacketed speaker wire" in the tower b/c it looked cleaner. I am going to be putting 175 watts to each speaker.

My questions:

1.) 12 gauge or 14 guage
2.) What types of wire a people using

Thanks,
Murphy

If you are running 1 pair p/speaker, the 14ga will be fine. I use twisted pair clear-insulated speaker wire. The double insulated looks sweet, but most of the time the wire is completely hidden in the tower so it's not seen. Any exposed wire, like around a joint/elbow, I cover anyway!

Murphy,

I agree, jacketed wire with the slick sleeve is so easy to pull through a tower.

(2) runs of 14/4 if you're running four channel power.
(2) runs of 12/2 if you're driving all four speakers with two channels.

That is what I am going to be doing since I am running a 2 channel amp.

Any reccomedations on some 12/2 wire?
