Shooot, I hope there is still water in the lake for ya!!! :-) We just got back from Houseboating there... it is lower than it has been in like 5 years, and it is only the beginning of august... the lake is still huge, but every day something new would pop out of the water, the water was receding at least a foot a day--good luck and have fun!

I think they let out extra water this year because of the levee break in the delta. Salt water was making its way inland so they flushed it out with shasta water. I was in shasta in june and it was pretty full but I'm sure when we got back it will be a whole new story.

For all of you Shasta enthusiasts, we have a major fire burning in the Jones Valley area. Last reported at 3000 acres and only 40% contained. Last night it was headed towards Silverthorn resort, however the fire changed directions and is now headed south. There is still a possibility of the fire returning so it might be a good idea to use a different arm of the lake. Here are a couple pictures of the lake that came out of the local paper.

Does anyone know what kind of PWC that is? That looks like so much fun.. I'm going to get one and go out at 6am when it's super calm... Too bad there's always those boats with the tuna towers and skiboarders doing the superman things...they mess up my water.
