Hi,
Our crew have a 2006 X-star Saltwater with the 375hp 6.0ltr captain’s Choice engine. The current prop size is 13.7 x 19.5V c oJ 4 blade.
At the moment as soon as we put some extra ballast in the boat with 5+ people inside we have to have 2 people in the bow to get on the plane.
I did read a thread about 3 months ago discussing the x star prop...I cannot find it sorry!
We are looking for a prop that would give us the best hole shot possible top speed is not an issue.
If any one would be kind enough to recommend a prop size and also a good place to buy one that would be cool.
Thanks

Call ACNE direct, or Jim at BAWS in Tampa. They worked together to get me a prop that works (MCX + 3200lbs).

i got the 13.7 X 14 i think...MCX with stock ballast in the back and 700lbs extra sacs in the back and no ballast in the front and it plains just fine, no problem..i like the wake without weight in the front, and no its no steep at all!

Try an Acme 845 13.5X16 for your application.

I have tested a lot of props on X-Stars and now have the OJ 14.25 X 14 XMP EDGE, and will never have anything else. I haven't had another prop that even came close to the performance. I have the MCX, and can run over 3000 of ballast, and 6 or 7 people, and it knocks it out. Not to mention is runs way lower RPM's.

Travis...Is the 14 x 14 you are using the new prop from OJ that was designed for the XStar this year?

Probably not an issue for you, but have you ran the boat with out ballast just running down the lake and noticed any major differences? Any concerns for over reving?

Thanks a lot!

Nick, yes it is. We are on a chain of 6 lakes, so at the beginning and the end of the day, we are always running back and forth pretty quickly. Today I had it full throttle for a while, and never even got close. It stayed right around 5g's.

Travis,
Thanks a lot for the info. That is exactly what I was hoping to hear. I'm going to have to put this on order even though I've heard OJ is back ordered on them currently.
