what are you using to power your NVS 1010s

Looking at options for amps. Wanted to do a littler survey what does everyone use and how do you have them wired in terms of OHMs.

Personally I prefer the 1100.1 for that application rather than the 1000.4, but you cant go wrong with either.

I actually just pulled out all my Zapco gear this year. Trying to stay away from Zapco.

was running my zappco 1000.4, but it didnt put em nearly as hard as the ppi. ill cry if that amp ever dies.

the PPi4125 is the ideal amp in my opinion but it just draws a ton of power! I'm looking into something a little more efficient. I dont know if my charging system can handle another big amp like that.

I pulled the Zapcos because I kept having to get them rebuilt every year. I just decided to go with something more traditional that had an RCA.

I was looking at the kicker 850.4 as well an avionixx which is a t path amp.

Ponte thats crazy power!

Any others out there? I know finding an amp that can pump 500 watts at 4 ohms is going to be tuff

nate. i sold my 1010's. now i have three deviants' on my tower and the middle is the deviant x. of course when i got that third deviant i also got another xxk2500. thats 3 thousand watts to my tower alone.

I have the PPI PCX4125. That came at Duane's recommendation. I haven't tried anything else...but don't feel any need to.

I have the Tyrants, but the power recommendation is the same.

Well, you know I am the only one running Avionixx. Nobody understands them, they can be quirky at times but I have had very good luck with mine. At least until you borrowed that last one.

I am running my Wetsounds off a special Avionixx AXT 1000.4. Before that they were running off a AXT 800.4. The 800.4 does 400x2 bridged the 1000.4 does 500x2 bridged. Try the 800.4, see if you like it. They still have some left at woofersetc for $250. That's the cheapest most high-efficient power you can find. If there is something better for close to that price I would like to find it.

Including the one you cooked last weekend with your 6x9s, I have burned up 3 tripath amps. They have all burned up right away when they did not like the load. The ones currently in my boat are going on their fourth season with the excpetion of the 1000.4 that I just installed over the winter. The 800.4 you borrowed to test has three hard seasons on it, it is the amp that ran my tower speakers. The other 800.4 running my boat is still doing fine.

My equipment falls into one of two categories. Disposable or replaceable from the manufacturer. Either way, I push my equipment pretty hard, when it breaks, it gets replaced.

I am still waiting for the little sub box to burn up. It's surprising that it has lasted for two full seasons.
