Has anyone ever had issues with their coupler bolts working themselves out? How often do you check them?

I recently worked on a boat that was missing two and didnt have nuts on the bolts that were still in.

i forgot to tighten mine after i replaced my motor. it sucked fixing it on the water.

They should have lockwashers or nylock nuts.... then there should never be an issue.

This is not super common but happens to people from time to time even with lock washers.

Nylock nuts were installed. Are there any other options? I don't want to go through this again.

Another nylock to back up to it as a locknut if you've got enough thread sticking out.
