I board behind a 03 X-30 looking for any tips on rope length. been boarding for a couple of yrs but just now getting serious. should the rope put you just in front of the white water on the first wake? cuz i read u guys talking about 70' of rope ad i am only using about 45 - 50'
thanks for the advice

well if you are getting white water at 70' you need to ride faster, what speed are you currently riding at? 65 or 70 ft of rope and a 5 ft handle section sounds about right.

I wouldnt up it to 75ft straight away but you should at least go to 65, it will make your landings much smoother if you take them to the downcrest of the second wake, rather than taking them way out into the flats on a shorter rope length. If you are on a 65ft rope + 5ft handle you want to be doing around 20mph, once you are confident with this I would take the rope to 70ft + handle and do around 22. It might take a while to get used to, but it will work good in the end.

we ride @ 22mph with all 3 ballists full 2 rear sides and one center should we not fill all of these to change the wake?
earlier i siad 45-50 ft i meant 55-60ft

On our 02 X-30 we ride at 70 feet plus 5 foot handle at 23-24 mph with about 2000 pounds total ballast and at around 22 with just the factory ballast full. The wake gets enormous when you put around 2000 pounds in and it's wide so you can get good air and distance but still land on the downslope of the wake.
