Does anyone know what happennd to him. Is he cut from cwb where did he go? If he were to switch companies I think that he would finally deserve the respect he needs. Ever tour event he got raped by the judges. Hes only 24 not even to his prime yet (ripe at a y0ung age) Rob if you are out there where did you go. Did gordy pull the plug on you I wish he cut the 40 year ooolld zane and sonja instead. If they want to be reps let them be reps. but dont have control over boards. gayagyagaygayagay peace much respect Rob. R.I.P Mark Kenney dont let anyone forget that you were gonna BLOW UP! best rider in the US now lookin down on us from up above. Therefor best rider in the Universe!

We will have a tiny bit of him in DS-2. He did not make it back to finish filming with us. He is married with child and working a real job now. I still love watching him though.

This came up a little while back. Rob married his super hot girlfriend, had a kid & is back living in Ohio. I believe he is working in the family business, real estate or something. He definately kills it on a wakeboard. As for capping on Zane & Sonja, what the hell? Zane is probably the funniest guy in wakeboarding & is still a ripper. Have you ridden his Absolute? To say he shouldn't have board design control is retarded as the Abso is off the hook. CWB puts all aspects of its line to its riders & even I have had some input on a few things & I suck.

*start high-jack* I got to meet Zane the week before last at the SEMA show in Vegas. Super cool guy, but I was so caught off guard that I didn't get a picture with him and had no idea what to say. I was like ummmm your ummmm Zane right? ummmm yeah I ride myself and ummmmm, I'd really like to come to your camp sometime ummmmmm. I such an idiot. lol *end high-jack*

Zane is f ing funny but that doesnt give him a board! He did rip and still does yes. However, if CWB wants the respect they deserve free up the big dollars and sign someone for the future of riding. Over the years there have been so many amazing free agents and they signed some incredible riders. I think in 03 when they got Andrew, trevor, and their grom team was the biggest improvement. now take it to the next level 86 the two of them and sign a name that will make them the top company. Keep zane as a rep, hell make more $$$ but give someone else a promodel.

This is odd, I, nor you know what Zane is being paid or if he is a rep or whatever. You started your post about "where rob went" and then in the same post before any response you start talking about how people should pull plug on Zane and Sonja. Not to put words in anyone's mouth but i would venture to say that Rob has no problem with Zane still being on the team.

i agree that rob doesnt have a problem but if you read up above he doesnt ride with them anymore he is in real estate. I was just throwing in my 2 cents about the future of the company. Just what I would do if I were in the shoes of a ceo.

ryan, you dont know what your talking about if you dont think the absolute is one of the most influential shapes out there.....and zane did and does continue to design it. why would they cut a pro model that is one of the best selling most loved boards out there? Business is for profit too you know.... additionally, maybe cwb keeps the older riders on as a sign of respect, not like these other companies that always drop people like flys for the next greatest thing.....have some respect.

mike I agree with you about your last comment. I think that it is a good sign of business to keep the riders that they do. It shows some assurance to a team that you are not going to be cut. However, even though zane rips hes not the best and no where near. So promote his ass to a higher position where he is in charge of R and D(because unless the riders have say in the cwb products their keep him as a rep b/c he does that very well. and sign another rider.

Im glad i dont ride cwb boards for sure. They had to custom build all my boards because i would break 25-30 a season. Remember that stuff ryan, haha. They would even get mad at me for product rnd basically. They couldnt take double ups and triples and thats all we do. A wakeboard company should not be run by a bunch of bankers or whatever they are now in my opinion. I had to ride 8-9 lb decks because they wouldnt even send me the normal store bought boards. Plus i remember when it was time to pick graphics i think the riders should get a voice especially if its a signature board.

I think Rob has ameritus status when it comes to CWB even though he might not be riding right now i'm sure he's still well connected with CWB. And i don't think it's a situation where they cut him. His life has just taken him in other directions.

lol ryan, remember that one time i broke two boards in two passes. Dock start, then barely get to speed for the double up, snap. Mount a new board and exact same thing, make it to speed and first trick on the double up again. lol. Plus the same thing happened at an owc comp awhile back. Third trick ripped both the inserts out on a whirly so had to drop the handle and get two minutes to fix the problem, then i switch inserts to a narrower stance and it broke again first trick so i never got to finish my first pass at that tour stop.

"A wakeboard company should not be run by a bunch of bankers or whatever they are now in my opinion." Winner of the most ignorant post of the day! My friend, if Hyperlite were owned by a group of bankers, maybe they wouldn't have gone out of business three years ago. Now, to keep in business, they are owned by a group of bankers. At least the designers, reps, sales staff at CWB ride. Hyperlite is a marketing company with a great team. You are about to run out of gas in your bridge burning torch young man.

ANd last but not least this one is great. A marketing company can out sell cwb. hahahahhah that says a lot about. ps/ who makes their boards? oh wait you dont speak CHINESE

Anyone who says Rob deserves a pro model more than Zane is off the rocker. Theres a reason he still has one. A large company doesnt keep a pro model just because. Zane designed his whole board from the ground up and its the best seller in the line. It over sells the transcend and marius combined. CWB never dropped rob struharik, so Ryan your argument is completly out of context. Rob had bigger things going on in his life than dealing with designing a new board. I think kids are more important than a new pro model. No rob is not with CWB anymore but they parted on good terms. As far as taking Zanes pro model any giving it back to Rob that is the most ludicrous statement i have ever heard in my entire life. Zane has always ridden better and done more for the company that rob ever will. As far as chris saying he doesnt want to ride for bankers, Hyperlite is owned by the same investor as CWB, Bob Archer. So looks like your riding for bankers anyway there champ. So i guess bankers suck but going on the internet to bash on a company makes you a better person than that banker. Also Ryan theres a reason your not a CEO. Lets see if you know why. And Zane kills it. If you ever get to watch him freeride take that offer up. Its legit thats for true. Youll realize why he still has a pro model then. hes done so much for this sport that noone will ever see or hear because he cares about it and loves and. And is better than you. Wakeboardings cool bashing on someone who has changed it for the better is NOT. Keep it real.

Zane is a pro on all levels. His relation with the fans and future riders of our sport is first class. I am not a big fan of cwb boards but I would ride Zane's pro model over most pro models out there just because of who he is and how he represents the sport. True pro in my book could care less if he only did w2w grabs

well said Greg. Zane does do all the mobes in the book and can do nines and everything grabbed with style. Also if it wasnt for Zane, Scott, gator and a select few then wakeboarding would not be where it is today.

Ryan, I was sitting looking through some old resumes and found that you had applied for the CWB Sales Rep job in Southern California after Scott Bain left. So if you had been hired would you be a lot less bitter towards us? On the subject of Rob he still gets paid royalties by us for his board sales and still rides our product, so I do not where you got the info that he no longer rides for us.

Id have to say IMHO Ryan may be what's wrong with wakeboarding these days... Guys who think they know the low down or have the "Inside" info and aren't smart enough to know when to keep it to themselves or even just keep it grounded... If I were new to this sport or even just this site it would be a shame to be run off by a member like that that blows a lot of smoke... my $0.02 Robby Stru still kills it and while Zane may not win any pro tour stops in the near future, he's still a true professional and at the end of the day I'm sure if you ask his sponsors he's bringing in more money thatn they are putting out...

Ryan, you must not be getting out in the So-Cal riding scene very often. If you were then you'd know exactly where CWB is, #2 and quickly moving up. Go to one of the Canyon Comps next year & tell me what you find. The rep that does So-Cal is a better rider than everyone here, he is a super cool guy and funny as hell. There's two reasons CWB is taking off down there, 1. A great rep & 2. Awesome product. How about this, with 2006 product coming out, lets talk next summer after C-Dub has blown up. Don't worry Scott, it's not much of a pissing contest. One of our contestants could barely muster much of an arguement.

Ryan, never on wakeworld have I seen someone come across as a bigger shi# for brains as you have on this post. Its clear to me and iam shure everyone else on this site that you have no clue what you are talkin about. CWB has great product and stands behind their product, their riders, and most important their shops 110%. All I can say is thank god they dident hire you for the rep job in So. Cal. They should get rid of Zane and his pro model board?( ya right) Zane is the man!!!!and the Absolute is one of the best sellin boars on the market!!

Zane is a pimp.... The guys still throws down in a major way. Rob Stru is also a pimp. I love his style. He's got huge skills. That's that... Oh, and CWB is building product that is off the hook. The new Zeus' are soo nice. Not to mention the fact that you can actually buy the '06 stuff now since its not stuck on a boat.
