She never paid for them in the first place. Bad move. If you buy your song off of iTunes and use it in a video that does not cost money to view, you are not breaking the law. It is the same thing as someone listening to your music from your car at a red light.

I have a good friend who is an entertainment lawyer and says they will pull music off of your video on you-tube, but if you go through the hassle of sending in a receipt for your purchase, it will be reposted. They do it to cover their a$$.

This lady never paid for any of it, then shared it. She should be nailed. 2 million may be a bit steep though.

That is so ridiculous. Like a mother of four is going to be able to pay that amount. The jury on the case must have been a bunch of idiots. The recording industry later stated that they would settle for $3,000. S*&t like this is ruining the country. Everyone is sue happy now days.

You've got to love the ridiculousness of our legal system. This lady gets a $1.92 million verdict against her for sharing 24 freaking songs yet Donte Stallworth KILLS an innocent man while drunk at the wheel and gets 30 days in prison.

Pathetic!

Verdict is over the top but people have the right to protect their property and work. Taking someone's work without paying for it is wrong. You need the punishment to be enough to deter others but 1.92 mil is crazy. Make it a grand or 500. That's enough to keep me from wanting to do it- but I am pretty cheap.
