How do you transfer an edited video to a DVD-CD. I bought DVD-RW(did not work), bought DVD+RW(did not work), I also have CD-RW and CD-R. what type do I need or how do you do it? I have drag to disk but still nothing? My parents player says it takes DVD-R or DVD+RW but the screen is blank when I try to play it?

What are you using for a computer? For a burner? for burning software?

You can't just put a file onto a DVD and then play it in a DVD player. The files have to be in the right format. You take the edited video and then convert it using a DVD authoring program such as Adobe's Encore DVD, Pinnacle Expression, etc. These programs convert the video to the right format and create the menus and files needed, then burn the DVD.

It's a lot more complicated than putting files on a CD. For more info check out http://www.burnworld.com/

Thanks guys!
I am so new to this. sort of like Video editing for dummies..
Wake-I have an Compaq Persario. I just installed an I/O Magic DVD+RW/+/-R Dual Format 4x DVD Rewritable Drive. As for editing and burning I've been jumping around with Roxio, Unlead, and Windows media player?.
Wow, I didn't realize how much goes into this. kind of a headache but it's fun.
Bill- I will look into those authorizing programs and try something. I hope to have some vid's up here this summer.
Thanks again.
