Where does all the water come from that is in my ski locker of my 2002 X-star? I took out about 3 gallons from there today. There was very little in and out of the boat today and I never filled the ballast in the ski locker so I'm sure that's not leaking. does water from the bilge area make it's way up there through the openings that one of the ballast hoses comes through? Thanks

do you have a heater ?

If the water is real warm in there it's leaking out of the busted heater.

Did you dip the nose or take anything in over the back?

Check the shaft seal where the shaft goes down through the hull. You may need to tighten it or repack it with wax rope (able to purchase at any marine shop or boat dealer). Normally it should have a few drops of water coming through but not much. If the seal (wax rope) is worn out you can get a stream of water coming through there.

I have noticed the same thing. I am having mine repacked currently. Hope it works! I noticed mine seems to take on water more when I am running not so much just sitting. Is that usually the situation for a poorly packed seal?

I had the same issue with my 01 X-star. Have you checked your center sack for leaks or tears ? My bag(blue)tore at the seam.

I have a yellow sack. I did pull the sac, twice now thinking that was it. But it seemed fine. I haven't checked the seal for the shaft yet. Weird cause I was out today for about 3 1/2 hours with ballast tanks/sac full and 6 people in and out of the boat and there was hardly any water in it this time? Last time when I noticed all the water, we were out for probably 6 or so hours, most of it just beached on a sand bar laying around. NO ballast filled.

My sack is sometimes purple, but I still check it from time to time. I never get leaks around the seal of my shaft, however my shaft does seem to leak out the end.

Billy,

Didn't you say that Parks' shaft leaks near his purple sack from where the alligator bit him??
