We are in the market for a new bimini, and would only like to spend up to $300 for the top and the cover. We are currently calling upholstery shops who might stock Sunbrella. Does anyone else have any ideas? Is there a better material than Sunbrella?

do you have the frame already and are just looking for new canvas? If so, hit me up with a PM.

Lots of people on here have done well with towerbiminis.com but I don't know their price range.

it's not 300. I don't know where you can get one for that price if you need all the hardware, etc.

From the profile pic though it looks like you have a bimini and maybe just need the canvas. We might be able to get you one for 300 from TowerBiminis if you only need the canvas but I'm not sure.

...I think they actually made the factory bimini for your Malibu to be honest.

300 dollars for just the polyester top?? Thats SUPER EXPENSIVE!!!!!! I can get you the whole frame with a 9.25oz sunbrella top for about 350 max depending on the size you need. We sell Biminis and their accessories at Overtons Watersports..Here is their website:

www.overtons.com

I am guessing from your pic that your boat is in the 91-96inch beam range. A bimini top, which measures 91-96inches wide by 48-54inches tall, frame and all would run you only 344.99. The prices do very by size and get lower as the top diminsions get smaller. The top that I described above is an extremely HUGE top and I doubt that you would need one that big.

Just wanted to throw my 2 cents out there. I would hate to hear someone paid 300 dollars for just the material...Let me know if you have any questions or would like any help ordering the whole top and frame or just the material.

Thanks,
Chris Hopf

and that one for 344 can be mounted to your tower just doesnt use clamps to hold it to the tower like the one from towerbimini.. Mine is mounted to my tower with these in which enable me to take the bimini down whenever I want and I dont have those huge clamps all over my tower when the bimini is up..

Thanks guys. Yes, we would only need the canvas for the top and the cover, and obviously for someone to sew it together. We were just looking for someone to get the material and copy the structure of our bimini. We are happy with the set-up.

Chris,
Did you alter one for your Super Sport? If so, which one?

Got some pics?

+1 for Adlee in Corona. They did a great job on mine, 1 day service, and under $500.
My buddy had an 81 SN that had a 20+ year old Adlee bimini, thing still looked like new.

Jeff....Im not sure I have any close ups of the mounts right now, but I will take some and email them to you. Here is the only pic I have showing the bimini
Upload

I am thinking about adding two poles in the front to replace the strap like the ones in the back.

That doesnt look all that bad. It's actually got some clearance too. This is a pic of my old bimini, which I lost (blew off the boat while towing.) I tried to contact the manufacturer of the bimini (Dallas Boat Tops) and their owner had died. No one was aware of what pattern to use to remake my bimini.

I don't have any pics of the bimini up but from the pics, you can see the front and rear mounts. I an interested in trying to find a way to make a similar bimini and try to reutilize the same mounts. You can see from the pics that I had poles in the front instead of the mounts, similar to what you are talking about doing.

I would measure the width between the mounts on your tower where you are wanting to mount your new frame. Then figure out how tall you need it to be from that mounting point so it will fit underneath your speakers and stuff. I cant remember how tall mine is but low because of my speakers

Here's my ~$350 off-the-shelf Sunbrella bimini. I got the 6' length, and it shades most all of the interior very well. Just make sure it's narrow enough to fit between the tower legs, and you're good to go.
