There's a family reunion next June and I'm wondering if it's worth towing my boat down there. It doesn't look like there are alot of arms, but that it's basically one large body of water. I'm thinking it probably gets windy / choppy there easily.

Is there an alternate that's close to that area that is better?

That lake is hit or miss, mostly miss. If you launch at Katherines landing you can take a left out of the marins and milk the area near the dam. Out of Cottonwood you can go left and about a 1/2 hr at 35mph there are a few coves on the left before the river. Thats about it unless you get really lucky and have no wind.

If you don;t take the boat the lake will be glass. If you take the boat it will be blown out!!!!!LOL

Never goin' back there again! Another Katherine's note: Be prepared for 1-2 hr. launch wait, and 1/2 mile hike to your truck/trailer.

Jeff,
You just don't know the secrets. And as for the hike, Bert, the bus driver will be glad to give you a ride from overflow parking!! Jk

My wife loves the casino camping, good water @ 5:30 to 7:30 at the dam and if you trailer to cottonwood go north, nice.
