I bought some Hyperlite Era's size small and the option strap doesn't come around enough to fasten the velcro even when nobody's in the binding? What's up with that? I bought them for my wife. They are super comfy for her, but her toes are just a little over the footbed...quarter inch or so. Is that bad?

Trade them in for the next size up.

Binding size is very important. If the are to big or to small, they can cause some major injuries. A lot of wakeboarding injuries happen because of people riding with the wrong size bindings.

I personally know a hand full of people who have broken their feet or hurt their ankles because of wearing the wrong size bindings.
