Smok'n deals are cool, but if it's from a e-tailer you might want to double check their ratings at http://www.resellerratings.com/

If the price seems too good to be true on a camera, it usually is. Use BandH as your guide

It was listed for 1350?

7D rocks! A friend and I both bought one and the pictures are incredible, you won't be disappointed even at the regular price.

email them and ask them if they're an authorized retailer for Canon. If not, that's a huge plus to stay away from them. Priced that low I'd about guarantee they're not.

Check and see if that "one year warranty" is from the manufacturer as well.

Not trying to disappoint you, but I don't want to see you get burned. Shop from a reputable company so you don't have any worries if there's a problem.

At $1350 they'll probably want you to buy a cleaning cloth or warranty for $350.

You might want to check out the new rebel that's coming out in march. $899 with the kit lens.

Don't forget that you will need lenses too. Good glass will add another $800 - 5,000+ to your purchase.

And to think I just switched from Canon too... come on Nikon!

Kung Fu,
Just curious why you switched to Nikon from Canon?
I'm debating between the 7D and D300s. Both great looking cameras on paper. I'm wondering who's better in the real world.

So comparing the 7d and the T2i. 8fps vs 3.5fps. I'm sure there are a lot more of advanced features on the 7d but if it films the same as the 7d, why pay an extra $1000?

The 7D has some waterproofing, the Rebel probably very little. The 7D has a much better AF system and better high ISO. Lot's of other little differences as well.

JP,

It depends on the application. I use both Nikon and Canon products. Some would argue that Nikon is better for fast action sports because of the faster Frames per sec. but now the 7D can achieve 8 FPS right out of the box. As far as image quality I personally think Nikon and Canon's are similarly match, if comparing like products.

However, if you will be using the video function, I don't think Nikon can touch Canon's quality, yet. That's why I bought a 7D. I don't shoot a lot of photos with it I mainly use it as a B camera on shoots.

I really enjoy using the 7D, and the quality is excellent. I would highly recommend it if you plan on using the video function. Otherwise it comes down to which one you like better. I know a lot of people that have picked one over the other simply because of the ergonomics and menu layout.

the wife just got herself a 7D a few months ago and i sometimes find myself using it for sports shots more than my 1DmkIII. i think that's how good it is.

I am in love with those new Canon cameras! They are so fun to work with and the quality is amazing! Unfortunately I am heavily invested in Nikon right now otherwise I would probably have picked up one of those by now. Just waiting for Nikon to catch up. I mean, they HAVE to otherwise they will probably feel the hurt of it quite a bit. But come on!!!!

Yes, get a 7D.
