While reading the protest thread, I saw a few people mention about how quickly the riders were throwing tricks and that the judges would miss entire tricks.

Wakeskaters pack in twice as many tricks into a run as a wakboarder. I have judged grass roots wakeskating several times and I know that I miss tricks from trying to write down everything. We have to write the tricks down so that if some one has a question about their score we can refer to what we wrote.

Does anybody have a better system for judging wakeskating than to write everything down as you would do for a grass roots wakeboard run?

I was thinking three judges:

1. Judge 1 lip tricks
2. Judge 2 wake to wake tricks
3. Judge three tricks in the flats

With this format judge 1 would still have a pretty difficult time keeping up.

Are you familiar with the INT wakeskate scoring system? I was involved with the formation of the scoring system and is actually very similar to what you described above. Send me an email if you would like more details. Jrallen02 @ hotmail.com. We have used the system the past 2 years and I feel like we have gotten thiings right near 100% of the time.

Most wakeskaters I've watched to a lot of 1 of the 3 or 2 of the 3 criteria's leaving one or more judges to relax while the other(s) are still struggling to keep up. I figure one judge to call it and another to write it down (in simple abbreviations) is all you need.
