-4x4 hole patterns
-Shaun Watson

Shawn Watson is not with Company Wake, I'm pretty certain he re-signed with LF a month or two ago. What does Wakeboarding mag say?

I think someone posted a photo from one of the tour stops of Tino riding one of their boards

Tino, I think, is.
Agreed though Hahn, can't they just come out and put rumors to rest.

^^^^^^^^^Seriously, I'm over this board company already before they even hit the market.

Why would you say that Jason? Because of a bunch of keyboard cowboys speculating about a product that's not even on the market yet?

Disclaimer, I'm really a nerd too

The Standerd Wake Quarterly drops July 1st! I have a photo published in that periodical that will put all of these rumors to rest. Better go to:

http://thestanderdquarterly.com/index.html

And order yourself a copy......

whoever is behind Company Wake is a genius, look at all the publicity they are getting, and they haven't even dropped a product yet.

Tino is for sure riding with company...he came to pickwick a couple weeks ago and was going super big behind a tige rz4 w/ no ballast...I'm talkin HUGE and the board was the same one with pics already released of it and it was a flex board.

I don't remember but did Ronix get this kind of buzz before they dropped? I remember randomly finding an interview about ronix around august 06 or so. I agree Co. Wake is doing quite a bit of good publicity, call it annoying but you have to admit youre intrigued.

company wake is legit. a nice small company with retail, rider, customer, quality, retailer morals.

i am looking forward to seeing the line.

I'm dropping Shaun Watson's name because if you look real close in the picture, his name is on the board

Better be built in the USA. Or I am not buying! I only buy american made boards from now on. Wanna keep business alive here. My Murray board so far ....has turned out to be a very high quality product compared to my Ronix Frontier. So If Company Wake is made in the USA...I'll take a look.

I'm interested to see what they have to offer.

I agree about the logo looking very similar to the cassette, I was thinking the same thing looking at the boat skate last weekend.}

Scott, looks like they are made in the US.

Also, we recently added another board into the
product line that
we think will help balance things out for us…There’s still quite a bit
of testing to do on this new board, but we have a super solid crew
designing, building and testing it…So we’re going to be just fine as it
relates to Surf Expo. This is just another reason why we decided to build
our boards right here in the USA. It gives us more time that most
to turn things around. Pretty cool. AMERICA!!!

slingshot is USA made too... except for the boots (or part of the boots, not sure exactly how much of the boots are china made)

wonder if Co. Wake will do their boots (when the get to the boots) in USA. From the quoted statement, i'd almost want to bet, Yes!
Old     (dakid)      Join Date: Feb 2001       06-26-2008, 9:24 PM Reply
is company wake made in the same factory as slingshot?

Some of the teasers have mentioned "in utah somewhere" but whether that is the headquarters, factory or what, i don't know personally.
most likely the "somewhere" is St. George Utah, but i dont 100% know on that either.

Slingshot is out of Washington, again, is it just headquaters or factory or both? not 100% sure either. my guess is they are different,... despite the noted similarities of ideas and designs
Old     (dakid)      Join Date: Feb 2001       06-26-2008, 11:04 PM Reply
someone told me that company wake is funded by slingshot. any truth to this?
Old     (snwmot)      Join Date: Sep 2006       06-26-2008, 11:26 PM Reply
yeah joe that's what i heard to like a branch-off company. iv'e also heard there sposed to have some pretty big name's riding for them.
Old     (wakerider111)      Join Date: Jul 2006       06-27-2008, 7:42 AM Reply
hmmm interesting... if true, i guess that would explain some things, the similarities and all.
maybe Co. Wake will be to slingshot as Byerly boards is to Hyperlite... or better yet, HO and Hyperlite

Slingshot - kite
Co. Wake - Wake

H.O. - skis
Hyperlite - wake

if it is true, that is

or maybe Slingshot wake will keep going and co.wake is just another thing with another name in attempts to seperate itself and grab a bigger chunk of the market like some car companies do and how wriggleys gum makes Orbit and its other gums too.

sorry for the extensive comparisons, only time will tell surly

It would make sense to me, the cost of developing and producing has to be very high. It would be a substantial investment on the front end. Seems like a partnership or offshoot company would be much more feasible.
Old     (rico80)      Join Date: Aug 2002       06-27-2008, 8:12 AM Reply
I don't know to much about Co Wake and didn't want to speculate, but this was my feeling as well. Made sense anyway, guess we'll all find out soon enough.

Props on building things in the US. Looking forward to seeing what you guys have hidden up your sleeve. I like innovation, it is good for the sport.

Joe Umali....You are a tool...."where was the computer you're posting from made? Probably china.....frinken Bill Gates was the one who started outsourcing you fool...BTW...I don't own this computer...my company does. Do I own chinese made products..probably....do I try to avoid them ....most definitely. My Ronix board was not good quality...If I am going to spend some good cash on a great board...I will look at the label to see where it is made..and my decision will be made on that fact as well. I have tried the import and I have seen and rode the difference...and there is a big difference. End of Rant. Thanks Company Wake...I am sure your product will be great quality. Looking forward to checking it out...hopefully soon.

pipe down turbo. it was a joke.

Sorry Joe....I work with a lot of outsourcing at my job. I hand off a lot of work overseas...and it comes back messed up all the time. This morning I already got back 4 things that are a mess. But I do notice the quality difference....my new Murray board is done really NICE. Wish the boots were made in the USA. But the finish on my Frontier was terrible..It started to show little raised bubbles on the top of the deck. I have not rode it at all this season (the boot insert came out) pulled it out of the bag..and the stupid thing is delaming on me. My buddy rides an O'Brien and is now having the same thing happen and he just got that board last year too. Just glad to see more products coming back here to be made.
