just practice and it will get higher, practice over obstacles such as ski bouys or something like a milk jug you can anchor in the lake. there's a massive round bouy thats about 2ft tall on my lake that i ollie. i seen shaun murray ollie one of those tall cylinder-shaped bouys that are used to mark the swim areas or no wake zones so maybe find one of those on your lake.

i say why not? you have to set your goals high to become good. plus how long could you possibly stay in the hospital?

Work on transfering as much weight to the trailing leg when you ollie. That will angle the board against the water so that it pushes it up. I've been trying to work on my ollies more as well lately. OWC just put a plastic barrel in the lake that is fun to hop over. Some of the guys out there can ollie onto a 4 foot high slider, and a few even clear it without hitting.
