I am almost done with my sub set up and the guy that was going to help me is to busy right now. So now I need to finish it myself. What I have is a JLW7 12" in a box with a plexyglass front window. Now what I need to do is put some sort of plate over the front to make it look nice and since I have zero creativity I need to use somone elses idea. Thanks for any help given, Mike

? on those with subs in the hatch ? How do you work on your boat? Change the impeller, oil, plugs, bilge... I think the craftsmenship is great & bet it sounds savage + the weight is good!!! Just concerned on maintanence issues? Lzy

William, How does that sub sound with that enclosure? I made one that looks just like yours, but mine turned out to sound better under the dash without the sealed box. Also, did you make that playpen yourself?? It looks good.

I will most likely turning to fire to the right. The guy who help me build it designed it to fire into a sound bord but I did not like the vibration the back pressure caused on the sub. Mike

PMH the enclosure is built to .615 cubic feet of airspace and JL reccomends .625. i went with a slightly smaller enclosure because im running 600 watts to each of my W6v2's. the sub will only sound good if it has the right amount of airspace and if it isn't in a enclosure you probably wont get alot of output. The sub is located under the bow filler cushion and then i made the grill with matching mesh.

Well I got it finished today. I used the stock kick panel and modified it to work with the new sub. I might change it out later but it looks ok for now. I will post some picks tomorrow. Mike

MIke-On your Bu why did you choose to fire the sub sidewayz ? Just curious if it sounds better then facing back towards the cabin ?

Well the the box was designed to fire up but that was no good so the only other optio was to go to the side. It does sound great though. I can't wait to get it in the water to hear it. Mike

I see alot of sidewayz firing subs on this thread and was just curious if the deflection helps or if it was just a fitment issue. Thanks

I think the deflection helps. It sounded way better once I put it in then it did just sittiing out on the floor of the boat. Mike
