nick. think more about turning, and less about flipping. try to push your head and shoulders towards the shore for the landing. put as much distance as you can between you and the handle(lean away from it for support). also, a little trick is to roll the handle over. so instead of landing with the handle up and your palm facing the water, roll the handle over and have your knuckles facing the water.

Three things helped me get this trick: First, I widened my stance a bit. You might not have a narrow stance, but, if you do (like I did), spreading out one hole might help. Second, I concentrated on spoting the landing. What really helped was looking for the foam on the second wake as I came around. Third, I focused on putting a bit more weight on my front foot (as compared to a regular backroll). When combined with a very progressive cut (e.g. I don't really put the board on edge until I'm 5' or so from the wake), helped me pop up as opposed to across.

Good luck.
